The year commenced with an opening balance of £15,518

After last years record efforts of fundraising, I’m very pleased to report this has been eclipsed further with a new record set in both fundraising income and more importantly in funds provided for the school.

Over £20,000 was handed over to Totley Primary School this year!

Total income for the year £25,550
Expenditure for the year (investments & event costs) £28,712
Resulting in a net balance decrease of (£3,162)
Closing Balance
This overall closes the year with a balance of £12,356
(£12,316 current account and £40 petty cash(untouched))

2023/24 Forecast

Whilst these will be covered in next years’ accounts, the PTA has already provided or committed to:

committed to:
Class enrichment funds £700
Sensory Garden Funds £5,000
Pantomime Subsidy circa £2,500
Friday Clubs £1400
Yoga Mats £600
New Atlases £320

This commitment/expenditure for next year, results in further investment for the school in excess of £10,000. This is simply amazing.

Discussions of the next funded project are already underway by the committee, above and beyond the figures quoted above.

Besides the obvious monetary value to all this effort, Totley Primary School would be a completely different venue and community without the significant efforts of the PTA and the superb events provided.

Nevertheless, back to pounds and pennies……….. on a personal note as I now handover the baton of Treasurer, including the committed funds above, I’ve had the pleasure of handing over in excess of £50,000 worth of funding to Totley Primary School during my tenure. Considering Covid severely restricted two years of fundraising efforts, there is no reason why these figures cannot be surpassed further.

Good luck!
