## **ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES** 

## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2020** 

The trustees have pleasure in presenting their annual report together with the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2020. 

## OBJECTIVES 

The charity objectives and regulations are regulated by the constitution adopted 22 September 1998. 

The association is established for the provision and maintenance of a community hall for the use of the inhabitants of Kidwelly and the surroundings thereof without distinction of political, religious or other opinion including the use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants. 

## ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE 

Kidwelly Town Community Hall is managed by a Board of Trustees. 

## REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES 

The charity derived income from grants and various fundraising activities. The charity provided the local community with a good sporting facility. During the year a variety of activities including football, netball, kick boxing, karate, dance classes and indoor bowls were held. Conference facilities were also provided and a variety of events were held in the hall including concerts, horticultural shows and birthday parties. The Welsh Blood Service used the hall’s facilities for blood donor sessions.Carmarthenshire County Council Youth Services use the hall for their Kidwelly based activities. The opening of phase 2 has greatly increased the facilities available and has given greater flexibility in the room sizes available for hire. 

TAXATION As a registered charity there is no tax liability arising out of the year’s trading 

## FINANCIAL REVIEW 

During the year ended 31 March 2020 the charity received £37,161 and expended £36,517 leaving a surplus for the year of £644. 

## THE FUTURE 

The aim is to ensure that the extended facilities will continue to provide an excellent service to the community of Kidwelly. Since March 2020 there have been severe restrictions on the use of the centre due to Covid-19 constraints
