PRINCIPAL OBJEcfIvES
The prlnclpal objects of BFA are:
to advance the Chrlstlan falth;
to relleve and a%ist pè)ple experlendng physlcal, mentsl and emotlonal sufferlng; and
to help churches and other Christlan organlsatlons to understand and asslst those sufferlng
from loss and bereavement, and other Sssues of emotlonal confllrt and paln by runnlng
teachlng days and workshops.
AcrtVlTIES
The charity SUPPOrted the mlnlstry of JennSfer Rees-Larcombe untll her death on 24 Ortober 2022.
Jennlfer was supported by a dedlcated team who were led by Carol B05tock, who was consecrated to
run the Charity on 13 March 2023.
The majorlty of the regular mlnlstry of the tharity Is now by onllne connectlons to uphold the values
and principal objettives of the charlty and contlnues to offer.,
runnlng onllne teachlng, mlnlstry and tralnlng days;
hostln9 retreat days at venues throughout the Brltlsh Isles;
offerlng appolntment5 for prayer mlnlstryi
speaklng at conferenos, church servlces and teachlng days,
wrltlng books, Blble study notes and arbdes;
provldlng a suitsble team of people to be avallable most days of the week.
In shaplng the objectlves for the year and plannlng the attlvlties, the trustee5 have consldered the
Charity Commisslon's guldance on publlc benefft. As the actlvEtles of the tharlty are open to all who
wish to avall themselves of them and funds a￿ avallable to asslst th0￿ unable to fulty pay the cost,
the trustees believe that their actlvltles meet the requlrements.
The trustees set aslde ten percent of the majorlty of the charlty's Income In an Unrestrlcted
Deslgnated Fund whlth Is used to make grants to asslst tho* unable to afford to pay fee5 for away
days and other events and to support the work of other slmllar char￿S eThY organlsatlons.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Beauty from Ashes offtrs support to those sufferlng grlef and loss, trauma and abuse. Slnce the start
of the Covld-19 pandemlc, most of the mlnlstry actlvltles have been offered vla sodal medla
platfomis. aients are glven the opportunlty to tslk to one of the Beauty from Ashes team, many of
whom have been through major loss themsefves. The majorlty of these Interactlons are through
onllne connectlon. Also, BFA wlll offer resldentlal retreats In varlous venues In the UK, when
condltlons allow, for those who need resp5te from difflcult drcUmStan￿ in a supportlve communlty.
The charlty Is dependent upon volunteers to help run events and for prayer and for finandal support.
It would not be p0$51ble to athleve our alms wlthout thelr contlnued support, The trustees are unable
to quantSfy In this report the contrlbutlon volunteers and supporters make Sn the hours they glve, but
the trustees wlsh to record thelr Immense gratitude for all the tlme, eneryy• prayer ar￿1 flnancial
support they Invest In the charity's work.
Slnce February 2025, Carol Bostock ¥vent on slck leave due to her health Issues and has been
recoverlng steadlty accompanled by a few surgical operatlons. The charity ha5 contlnued to operate
wlth volunteers enablement. A revlew Is In pla￿ for Carol's contlnuous recovery before comlng back
to full operatlon agaln,

FINANCIAL REPORT FOR TrIE YEAR
The Income on the unrestricted fund for the year amounted to £66,001 (2023.. £88,986) and the
expenditu￿ was £71,958 (2023.. £73,585), resultlng In a deficlt for the year of £5,957 (2023., surplus
of £15,401). The trustees glve thanks to God for hls provlslon In dlfflcult tlmes and to all who support
the trust's work in prdyer, ministry and flnanclally.
RESERVES POUCY AND GOING CONCERN
The trustees have examined the requi￿rnent for free reserves, whlth are unrestrlcted funds whlch
are not repre*nted by tanglble flxed assets and whSch are not deslgllated for speclffc purposes or
otherwlse commltted. The trustee5 conslder tha¢ havlng regard to the natu￿ of the actfvitles of BFA,
the level of free reserves should be a minlmum of six months of expendlture on charltable actlvltles,
whKh equates to £35,979 (2023.. £36,793). The trustees are of the oplnlon that thls would provlde
5ufflclent flexlblllty to cover fluctuatlons In Income flows and In meeung the cost of other
CDlltlngencles.
The trustees conlder the charlty to be a golng COn￿rn.
FINANCIAL POSITION
The balance sheet shows total assets of £121,056 (2023.. £129,889) comprf51ng the Unrestritted
General Fund of £111,487 (2023: £120,050), the Unrestrlrted Deslgnated Support Fund of £6,496
(2023: £3,890) and the Restrlcted Funds of £3,073 (2023: £3,073) is a Restrlcted Fund,
At 31 October by tanglble fixed assets, the deslgnated fund and the Testrkted fund, the free reseNes
amounted to £111,487 (2023,. £122,926). This exceeds the mlnlmum reserves pollcy by £86,438
(2023: £86,133), whlch Is helpful In the Ilght of the current economk un￿rtaIntleS and the future
development of the trust.

FUTURE PLANS
The trustee5 conslder that the trust should continue In Its present struciure and functlon, conslderlng
the contlnulng hlgh demand from Its cllents for its prayer mlnlstry. Followlng the Coronavlrus
pandemic and the cessatlon of appointments for fa￿ to fa￿ mlnlstsy, Qulet Days and conftrence
ministries, the cllent mlnlstry contlnues uslng letter, telephone and electronlc fomis of
>mmunlcatlon. The tr￿Stee$ contlnue to address the need to ratse swffldent Income to meet the
annual operatsng costs and the mlnlmum level of free reserves.

ORGANISATION
BFA Is dlrectsd by the Board of Trustees, èll of whose members are volunteer5. They meet at least
iw1￿ a year to dlscuss the strateglc Issues faclng the charlty and to support and encourage the work.
The work of the tharlty was led by Mrs Jennlfer Rees-Larcombe untll her death and Ls now led by Mrs
Carol BostocK and reports are made to the trustees at each meetlng.

The trustees have assessed the major rlsks, as Identifled by them, to whSch BFA Is exposed and are
satlsfled that arrangements are In Pla￿ to mltlgate those r15ks. The major rlsks are safeguardlng of
dlents, staff and volunteers, health and safety IssLtes, flnancial regulatlons and controls and data
storage and protectlon. These a￿$ have been set out In policy statements agreed and regularly
updated by the trustees. They have been addressed by regular contsct wlth the CEO, admlnlstrator
and finance offl￿r who dlscu55 the operation of the charlty and by speclflc and ongolng tralnlng for
staff and volunteers.
Addltionallyi Wlth Mrs Carol Bostock golng on slck leave due to the severe health1$5￿e5 as of
February 2025, there Is a r15k for an organisational drlft wlthout there belng a temporary stand In.
Thls has been addressed by both volunteers and external members agreelng to a programme plan In
ensurlng the actlvltles of the charltles do not Stop and ensuring that thls operatlons of the charlty
continue for when Carol does return.

In preparlng these accounts, the trustees have consIde￿d whether In applylng the
accountlng pollcles requlred by FRS 102 and the ￿arItIeS SORP FPS 102 the restatement of
comparatlve Items was requlred. No reststements were requlred.
1.3 Legal Status of th• Charlty
The charlty Is a company limlted by guarantee and has no share capital. In the event of the
charity belng wound up, the Ilablllty In respect of the guarantee Is Ilmlted to such sum, not
exceedlng £10 per member of the d)arlty, as may be requlred durlng the perlod of
membershlp or wlthSn one year after ￿8$1￿￿ to be a member.
1,4 Golng Conurn
The trustees conslder that there are no materlal Un￿rtaIntleS atout the Trust's ablllty to
continue as a golng COn￿rn. Wlth respect to the next ￿pOrtIng perlod, the year endlng 31
October 2023, the most slgnlflcant area of uncertalnty Is the level of glll and legacy Income
recelvable. The twstees conslder the level of free reserves suffldent to meet the Trusts
Ilabllltles when they fall due.
1.5 Income Recognltion
All Income Is recognised ontr the charlty has entldement to the fund5, It 15 probable that the
income wlll be r￿1Ved and the arnount of Income recefvable can be measured rellably,
Income is derlved princlpally from speaklng glfts, support gllls, quSet days and the sale of
books and Is accounted for when re￿Ived. Tax recoverable on glft ald donatlons Is acawed
In the flnanclal ststements. Legades a￿ accounted for as the earller of the date on whlch
elther the charlty Is aware that probate has l￿en granted, the estate has been flnalised and
notSflcatlon has been made by the executors to the Trust that a distributlon wlll be made, or
when a dlstrlbutlon Is recelved f rom the estate. Interest on funds held on deposlt Is Included
when recelvable and measured rellabSy by the charlty, whlch Is normally upon notlflcatlon of
the interest pald or payable by the Bank.
1.6 Expenditure Recognltion
Liabilitie5 are recognlsed as expendlture as soon as the￿ Is a legal or constructlve cbllgatlon
committlng the charity to that expenditu￿, It Is probable that settlement will be required and
the amount of the obllgation can be measured rellably. expendlturels accounted for on an
accruals basrs. tharitsble actlvities are the costs Incurred In athieving the charitable

objectlves of the charlty. Governance costs are the costs assoclated wlth the legal and
ststutory duties of the charlty and are Induded wlthln the charltsble actlvlties. Cost of ralsirKJ
funds are management and admlnlstrdtlon costs assodated wlth the running of the charity
and its Income generatlng actlvltles. Grants are accounted for when the trustees resolve to
awar(I the grant Salary and offlce costs are allocated on an estlrnated bas15 where
approprlate.
1.7 Tanglble Fixed A55ets
All flxed assets C05tlng more than £250 are capltalised and valued at hlstorlcal cost.
Depreclatlon Is provlded at 20% on net book value whith Is calculated to wrlte off the assets
over their estlmated worklng Ilves. Thls Is a change In accountlng pollcy as a rate of 25% has
be used prevlously. The trustees conslder a lower rate more accurately reflects the worklng
Ilves of the a￿ets.
1.8 Stock•
Stock Is Induded at the lower of cost and net ￿lISable value.
1.9 Delrtorg
Trade and other debtors are recognlsed at the settlement amount due. Prepayments are
valued at the amount prepald.
1.10 Calh at Bank and In Hand
Cash at bank and In hand are baslc flnandal assets and Include cash In hand, deposlts held at
call wlth banks and other short-term Ilquld investment5 wlth maturltles of three months or
le5$,
1.11 Craditors and Provlslong
Creditors and provlslons are recognlsed where the charlty ha5 a present obllgatlon resulting
from a past. event that wlll probably result In the transfer of funds to a thlrd party and the
amount due to Settle the obllgatlon can be measured or estlmatsd rellably. c￿dItorS and
provlslons are normalty recogn15ed at their settlement amount.
1.12 Flnanclal Initruments
The trust only has financlal assets and flnanclal liabllltles of a klnd that quallfy as baslc
finandal Instruments. Baslc flnanclal Instruments are Inltially reccgnlsed at transactton value
and subsequently measured at thelr settlement value.
1.13 Fund$ Structur•
Unrestrlcted Funds are expendable at the discretlon of the Twstees In the furtheran￿ of the
ob]'erts of the charlty.
Designated Funds are unrestrlcted fund5 set aslde by the Trustees for speclflc purposes.
Restrtcted Funds are funds re￿IVed for a speclfic purpose whlch may only be used for that
purpose.
1.14 Pen•ion
The Chatty makes contrlbutions to a deflned contrlbutlon scheme, the assets of the scheme
belng held separately from the assets of the charltable company. It also makes contributlon5
under the Penslons Art 2008 to the Natlonal Employment Savlng5 Trust (NEsf). The penslon
cost charge represents contrlbutlons payable to the sthemes. The company's Ilablllty is
IlmSted to the amount of the contrlbutlon. A penslon allowan￿ Is also pald for a member of
