The trustees of the society are appointed as and when required such as illness or the resignation of a trustee. 

The trustees are appointed voluntarily and are members of the society.. Any major risks to the society are discussed with the trustees during monthly meetings of the committee where the liquidity of the society is always discussed during the treasurer’s report. 

Any matters arising of an urgent nature would be brought to the attention of the trustees outside the said normal monthly meeting.

The society performs shows for the benefit of the general public and also for its members of all ages (16+), backgrounds and abilities. Also, the society involves local children in its performances to understand and benefit from the experience of others and to enhance their knowledge of the theatre.

The charity receives funds from its shows and performances, Performed at a variety of venues in the town during the year. The annual pantomime draws in the greatest funds for the year. Funds are also received from various activities enjoyed by the society during the year including public singing and local activities such as treasure hunt etc.

With agreement with the committee and by members a vote for a local charity is put forward to receive funds obtained indirectly and separate from the society’s performances as mentioned above. 

During this year the society independently raised £952 for  local charities. Which included Southport Soup Kitchen and the local Life Boat Station.

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

This year saw the society perform in front of near maximum audiences . Having left Covid behind the club was able to concentrate on putting on a first class show which reflects in the profit returned for this year which was above expectations. We also had competition from a professional show a few weeks before we were due to begin, however this appeared to have little effect due to our loyal following. 

It is estimated the theatre was 90% full over 12 performances which meant that a solid income was also achieved. The profit achieved was also a near record. The society was nominated for several NODA awards for its previous pantomimes and are awaiting any nominations for this show. The society members attend local events to promote the show such as singing in local venues and visiting performances by other societies. The Company was therefore delighted with the outcome of this year’s performances and the commeraderie during the show is again reflected in the achievements during the year
