The object of the charity is to advance education in the arts in Burton upon Trent and District by the production of one or more dramatic stage plays or musicals each year.
The charity’s reserve policy is to ensure that sufficient reserves are held to fund the production about to be presented. At 31[st] October 2022, reserves totalled £17,865.30.
In the year to 31[st] October 2022, the Chair of Trustees, Mr P S Clemson, reported that, despite the uncertainty brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, three successful productions had been staged in the year: The Wind in the Willows, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The 39 Steps.
The situation remains very difficult for theatre companies and ticket sales are substantially down, mainly due to a lack of public confidence in resuming theatregoing. Little Theatre Company is taking every step to help restore this confidence and hopes to see an improvement in the next financial year. In the meantime, we are extremely grateful to the Consolidated Charity of Burton upon Trent for their continued support as we strive to improve our finances.
