4 Accounting policies

Accounting convention The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance

2 Statement of Management Committees Responsibilities Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the management committee to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of

DAS 30th Anniversary Planning Update

Alistair provided a comprehensive update on DAS activities, highlighting key developments and upcoming events. He announced that Muira Engage will become the new membership services provider from February 2026, with no expected changes for members. Alistair discussed contributions to Regulation28 orders and the Difficult Airway Registry, which now has over 2,100 entries. He also previewed upcoming events celebrating DAS's 30th anniversary in 2026 across the UK and Ireland, including a webinar on the 2025 guidelines and various conferences and meetings.
Website and Treasury Updates Meeting
The meeting covered updates on website development, which is ongoing with gradual improvements, and the e-phone registry. Ravi mentioned DAS's representation at international Railway Society meetings. Fauzia presented the Treasury report, highlighting a healthy account balance despite significant expenses on projects like the website and database migration. She discussed upcoming financial commitments, including eFuna registry and DAS database ongoing costs, as well as budgeting for DAS 26 and the transition to the new membership provider, More Engage.
DAS Professor and Fellows Updates
Karim presented updates on DAS scientific activities, including direct grants, NIAA funding, and the DAS Professor award. He announced that Imran was awarded the DAS Professor of Anesthesia and Airway Management for 2025. Karim also introduced the new Fellows of the Difficult Ainways Society program, with seven awardeesin its first year. The society will open applications for DAS Professor and FDAS in March 2026.
Airway Management Awards Announcement
The meeting focused on the announcement of several awards to recognize contributions to airway management.
