AGM Managers Report 2024/25

Tuesday 25[th] November 2025

The Preschool utilisation was the lowest we’ve seen for a number of years, due to a very low birth rate year, mainly from the impact of covid. Numbers grew gradually over the year and by the summer term Caterpillars were at 86% utilisation, Butterfly numbers sat at 61% utilisation.

Kids Club however, continued to be very busy, and we had a waiting list on a number of days for before and after school.

Staffing stayed consistent with one staff member requesting a drop to 4 days per week which we were able to accommodate. During the summer term we had a volunteer join us for 2/3 days a week and we supported the local high schools in offering work experience placements.

We had an extremely busy year with our children, as always taking part in lots of fun activities and community events; we donated a harvest box to our friends at beech dene residential home, we raised money for the children in hospital at Christmas, we had Christmas parties and a family Elf Hunt, dressed up for World Book day, held an Easter Hat competition, Celebrated VE day, arranged our annual preschool trip day, had a stall at the school summer fair and finished off with a wonderful week of graduation celebrations.

This year saw us invest heavily into our outdoor area, during October half term A Parr Landscapers worked hard to transform our garden into a more usable and all-weather space. Staff then used an inset day to treat the sheds., fences and outdoor den. This investment had had a hugely positive impact on all of our children and the outdoor curriculum we provide.

Our wonderful trustee Jules set us up a brand-new website; designing the entire site and dedicating her own time to input all our vital information. She then provided training sessions to the senior staff team so they could continue manage the website over the coming years. A huge thank you to Jules, the website looks fabulous and received lots of positive feedback.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our resigning chairperson Charlotte for her devotion and time given to this vital role.

To our trustees, thank you as always for your hard work and continued commitment to preschool and kids club.

Finally, I would like to thank my fantastic team for their hard work, passion and dedication. The roles they have are not easy and they give it their all every single day.
