AGM Committee Report 2023/24 Friday 18[th] October 2024
The numbers in the Preschool during the academic year 23/24 were healthy. Both rooms maintained excellent numbers throughout the year and were at full capacity by the summer term.
Kids Club continued to be extremely popular, which is a testament to the Kids Club Lead and staff. They continually and consistency provide a happy place for our attendees – a home away from home.
A staff departure provided us with the opportunity to examine our current staffing need. We decided to utilise our current staff and their hours differently, to provide minimal disruption to the children – first and paramount – as well as enabling us to maximise economic efficiency. The new working arrangements for these staff will continue this academic year.
Throughout the year, community cohesion has continued to be strength of our provision, for example, donating a harvest box to our friends at Beech Dene Residential home, providing a Singing Stars concert to Mount Pleasant Residential Home. We have made progress in regard to our fundraising through the Christmas Fair. We have enjoyed PJ parties, a Halloween hunt, World Book Day, Easter competitions and our annual trip.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Katherine Rushton for her support of the preschool and kids club. She served as a Trustee for 10 years, which is an incredible amount of time to dedicate to us – thank you. To our outgoing Committee, your support over the last 12 months has been incredible and we are excited to continue working together.
The Committee and Management team would like to thank our hardworking, passionate and dedicated practitioners whole heartedly - you are all superheroes!
Lastly, a huge thank you Rachel, who continues to manage Westwood Preschool and Kids Club efficiently and diligently, enabling the setting to thrive and those within it shine. The Committee would like to congratulate Rachel on her completion of her NPQ and her recent appointment as a Governor at Leek High School.
