## **Public benefit**

The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit and consider that the activities of the charity meet its charitable objectives and provide a benefit to the public.

## **Achievement and Performance**

## **Charitable activities**

This financial year, the Trustees; Steve Tucker, Nigel Green and Mark Johnson all resigned and interim Trustees were appointed. They are; Jeff Lucas, Bekah Legg and Kay Lucas. The aim is to engage new Trustees in the up coming year.

It is with great sadness that we have to report the loss of our dear and good friend Steve Legg, who on the 16th September 2024 lost his battle against cancer. Steve was a very creative and talented person and the heart behind the creation of Sorted Magazine, a quality men’s magazine that brought stories of hope and faith to many, including the armed forces and prisoners across the UK. The last printed issue of Sorted Magazine was November/December 2024, with a farewell feature to Steve Legg.

Many felt that stopping Sorted Magazine is a great loss, and Val Frazer has taken up the baton of Sorted Magazine and created a digital version of Sorted available online only, so that the work and ministry of a magazine for men can continue. Therefore, we have decided to support this work financially with monthly giving.

The trust has focused on continuing to support the work of Jeff Lucas in the creating and distributing of Bible Notes. We want to recognise the great work and effort that Steve gave to the creation of Life with Lucas daily Bible notes and that these will be able to continue to be available to individuals and to prison chaplains and prisoners as they request them.

Jeff Lucas also continues his work to advance the Christian faith in the UK by:

- Acting an advisor to a number of local churches and church leaders

- Providing monthly copy to Premier Christianity Magazine, the UK’s leading Christian publication will multiple thousands of subscribers

- Writing and broadcasting a weekly national radio broadcast on Premier Christian Radio

- Speaking and teaching in a variety of cross-denominational conferences as invited

- Speaking and teaching in local churches as invited

- Pursuing opportunities to further the work of Convoy of Hope, a multinational disaster relief charity that seeks to relieve distress and hardship caused by natural disaster, famine and war

- Promoting theological/biblical understanding by the creation and delivery of tours to biblical sites such as Turkey and Israel/Palestine.

## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the year ended 31[st] August 2025**

## **Reserves policy**

The trustees have considered the level of reserves they wish to retain, appropriate to the charity's needs. This is based on the charity's size and the level of financial commitments held. The trustees aim to ensure the charity will be able to continue to fulfil its charitable objectives even if there is a temporary shortfall in income or unexpected expenditure. The trustees will endeavour not to set aside funds unnecessarily.

## **Risk assessment**

The Trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a regular basis and believe that maintaining the free reserves stated, combined with the annual review of the controls over key financial systems carried out on an annual basis will provide sufficient resources in the event of adverse conditions. The trustees have also examined other operational and business risks which they face and confirm that they have established systems to mitigate the significant risks
