The vulnerability of our charitable tsperation wa5 laid bare during the pandemic. Our charitable income, and mor8
mportantly our charitable giving. was profoundly impacted by resliiclions to hospitality through the pandemic.
This partial closure did afford Iru$lèés' time to review our op&rall¢)n, communication, and charitable giving.
Elements of which were all refined. in line with our Strategic Framework. All arèas now have better consislenoy
wllh branding and corporate image. The messaging at events is more consislenl wrth greater emphasis on the
purpose of the charity, and the athletes we are striving to support. Along with launching our first website in 2021,
we are now able lo offèr our recipients and sponsors greater shared-exposure and Gonneclivily lo Sports Aid
EasleTn.

above. Our Regional Coordlnator, Sally Feck wlll also conclude her work for SportsAld Eastern at the end of
2023, and th& Truste#8 offér heartfelt thanks for two decades of service lo the Gharily.
Creating our websllg h85 eertalnly ossisled our pursuit of 8 règlonally reGognlsed brand as we sought beller
consistency a¢TOSS lunch clubs. Clearer and obvlous as8ocl8llon with the strong brand ol SportsAid, our 8lumnl,
and new SportsAid progeny ¢onnec18d through on-lin¢ and 50¢181 m&dla channols, together wSlh opportunS1iès lo
easlly donate on-line will fomi the next major phasfr ol the chailly's evolutlon, and Iruslee$ are worklng on a
marketing and communication strategy.
Whilst wè have enjoyed a successful year, Ih8r8 are two pefslstent issues affecting our operatlng rnodel of
fundraising through lunch Clubs., il the rising costs of providing hospitality, and 511 the ¢081 of living crisis, and tho
impact this ha$ in terms Df our fundraising, along wllh the effectivenes8 of the award8 wè are making lo alhlele8
and the help it can genuinely provide.
Our strategy rèmalns lo do everylhlng w8 can lo support and improve our exlstlng structure of lunch dubs and
Found8tions whils11goking for new partners and particularly for any n8W SUPPOrt funding that can cover our
ongoing adminislrallve and operational cost$.
All with the ovgrrlding oblÉctlva to make as many awaids as possible and lo maintain the average level of awBrd

The Iruslees are fully awarty of the responsibility of the Charity to meet the obligations of Public Benefit under the
requirements of section 4 of the Charities Act 2006.
