Overall Objectives of the Trust
To promote the benefit of the residents of Bishops Green & the immediate neighbourhood, without distinction of gender, race, sex, political, religious etc. To be achieved by associating together the residents & local authorities, voluntary & other organisations in an effort to provide facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for all residents.
Objectives of the Trust for 2023-24
To maintain, improve and manage the village hall.
To promote the hall as a venue for activities/events for residents
To secure funding to employ a part-time centre manager and a full-time youth worker.
To secure funding to convert an office into a pop-up treatment room for hire to local professionals.
To secure a pre-school to run in the main hall.
Achievement of Objectives of the Trust for 2023-24
BGCA has had no major building expenses this year.
Funds have been secured for the centre-coordinator who started work in January 2024 - Year 1 - 100% or salary, Year 2 - 75% of salary.
Funds have been secured for the office conversion which will start in April 2024
Funds have been secured for a full-time youth worker for 1 year so far. The youth worker will start work in May 2024.
Tiny Steps Pre-school will run 5 days per week, term time, on a commercial basis from September 2024.
Bingo continues to run successfully and is enjoyed by locals and others beyond the village.
Homestart ceased running sessions in the autumn of 2023 but has stayed in touch with the centre coordinator.
Since the centre coordinator began work footfall has increased in the hall as there are weekly coffee mornings and baby weighing sessions. Very popular activities for families were organised in February half term and the Easter holidays. A regular table-top sale has been started.
Private hirings have increased since January.
RMD ceased running the youth club in April 2024 and so funds have been kept towards the Youth worker salary.
As there were very few regular events in this financial year the hall utility bills have been lower than expected in a year when the hall is heated throughout the winter.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees
I report on the Accounts of the Community Association for the year ended 31 March 2023 which are shown below.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts. The Charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

Examine the Accounts (under section 43(3)(a) of the 1993 Act):

To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act); and
-
To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the Accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Accounts and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the Accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and

to prepare Accounts which accord with the accounting records and to
comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met; or
