Overall Objectives of the Trust
To promote the benefit of the residents of Bishops Green & the immediate neighbourhood, without distinction of gender, race, sex, political, religious etc. To be achieved by associating together the residents & local authorities, voluntary & other organisations in an effort to provide facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for all residents.
Objectives of the Trust for 2021-22
To maintain, improve and manage the village hall
To promote the hall as a venue for activities/events for residents
To secure funding to keep the youth club open.
Achievement of Objectives of the Trust for 2021-2
Grants were used to make repairs and improvements to the hall. S106 money was used to upgrade the heating system to a three zone 24/7 timed system, and the outside lighting was changed to LEDs to improve energy efficiency. Covid grant money was used to change the main hall lighting to LEDs and to repair the garden area and fencing.
The hall was closed to one-off hirers again for a some of this year because of Covid restrictions. This was offset by continued grants from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. The hall was able to retain its regular hirers and some private parties were able to go ahead once COVID restrictions were lifted. In
November 2021, The Warren Pre-school, one of our lead tenants closed its doors. This has been a loss to the community and to the income for the hall.
The Santa’s Sleigh and Grotto event was held again after a break because of COVID restrictions. It was good to see the hall full again.
Private party bookings increased significantly in the first quarter of 2022.
Homestart NW Hampshire began a one day per week toddler group in January 2022.
Funds were secured to enable the youth club to continue running through the financial year and a three-year funding package has been received from Greenham Trust.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees
I report on the Accounts of the Community Association for the year ended 31 March 2021 which are shown below.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts. The Charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

Examine the Accounts (under section 43(3)(a) of the 1993 Act):

To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act); and
-
To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the Accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Accounts and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the Accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and

to prepare Accounts which accord with the accounting records and to
comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met; or
