Risk management The trustees have assessed the major risks to which die cliarity is exposed to and are satisfied that systems ar¢ in place to mitigate exposure to these risks. Objective and activities Masjid and Madrasah Al-Tawhid is a non-political, religious organisation established in 1998. It is an independent charity witli religious and education activities catering primarily to the Muslims in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The Trust's actlVLties for the year can be summarised as.. daily congiegational prayers, Friday semons, celebi'ating the two Eid prayers, holds regular Islamic lectures, evening school for the children aged 5 to 15 from Monday to Friday. Funeral prayers are perfornied whenever required. Youth club activities for boys and girls including football basketball self-defense and karate classes for young boys are undertaken on a regular basis. The trust holds organizes a weekly foodbank at Mosque premises providing basic foods to local residents in hardship, also provides support for the humanitarian relief by way of collecting Zakat and Zakatul Fitr money (Obligatory Chai"ity) from congregation and pass it to the people in need directly or using other reputable charities. Every year the trust provides Iftaar food and full meal as well in last ten days of Ramadan. It is the policy of the charity to maintain unrestricted funds, which are the free reserves of the charity. at a level which provides sufficient funds to cover managemenL administration and support costs.

Law applicable to cliarities in England and Wales required the trnstees to prepare financial statements for eacli financiaI year which give a true and fair view of ¢l)arity and of tbe incomino resources and application of resources of the charity for that year. In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP- make judgemciits and estimates that are reasonable and prudent- state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements- and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it IS lllappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dtsclose with reasonable accw-acy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial stateinents comply with th¢ Charities Act 1993 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of frdud and other irregularities. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throutrhout the year and the preceding year. Basis of accounting Tlie financial statements are pi"epared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice 'Accounting and Repoiting by Charities, issued in March 2005 (SORP 2005) and the Charities Act 1993. 1.2. Cash flow The charity has taken advantage of the exemption in FRSI from the requiretnents to produce a cash flow statement because it is small charity. ncoming resources All Incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income= Voluntary income is received by way of grants, donations and oifts and is incLuded in full in the statement of financial activities when receivable. Gi-ants where entitlement is not conditional on the delivery of a specific perfotTnance by the charity are recognised when the charity becomes unconditionally entitlcd to the grant. Donated seivices and facilities are included at the value to the charity where this can be quantified. The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included. Income from investments is included in the year in which it is receivable.

Expenditure includes any VAT whicli cannot be fully Tecovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates. Costs of generating fimds comprise the costs associated witli attracting voluntary income and the costs of trading for fiindraising purposes including the charity's shop. Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and diose costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them. Support costs are tliose costs incurred directly in support of expenditure on tlie objects of the charity and include project manaoement.
