Annual Review and Future Development Plans

Assalamu ‘Alaykum, works undertaken this year to improve and enhance our facilities. Underfloor heating has been introduced on the ground floor in both the Prayer and wudhu areas. Lighting Improvements: All lighting in the main Prayer hall was replaced with LED units to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. Additional Facilities: New radiators were installed on the first floor, and a new kitchen has been fitted to better Cater for events, Particularly during Ramadan. Interior Enhancements: Full painting and decorating works were Carried out, including new Skirting, as well as the design and installation of a new mimbar and mihrab. Carpeting and Maintenance: New Carpets have been laid throughout, and a comprehensive cleaning of fans, air-conditioning units, windows, shelving, and conduits was completed. congregation.Furnishings: New bookshelves and Storage units were purchased to Support the needs of the Children’s Maktab: We have expanded the facilities for madrassah Students by introducing an additional hour of lessons Specifically dedicated to Hifz Students. These improvements have been made with the intention of creating a safer, more comfortable, and welcoming environment for all who attend the mosque,

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of Shahjalal Mosque and Islamic Centre Southampton you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). | report in respect of my examination of the Shahjalal Mosque and Islamic Centre Southampton accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination | have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

1 Accounting basis

The accounts have been compiled under the historic convention and in accordance with applicable standards and the Statement of Recommended Practice on accounting for Charties.

Depreciation

Depreciation is provided on fixed assets at rates calculated to write off the cost less estimated residual value of each asset over its expected useful life, as follows:
