## **Independent Examiners Report**

You have approved the accounts for the year ended 5 April 2021 which comprise the Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and related notes. In accordance with your instructions, I have compiled these unaudited accounts from the accounting records and information and explanations supplied to me.

I report on the accounts of the Shahjalal Mosque and Islamic Centre Southampton for the year ended 5 April 2021, which are set out on pages 4 to 8.

## Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As the charity's management committee you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 as amended by section 28 of the Charities Act 2006 does not apply, however, that an Independent examination is needed.

It my responsibilty to:

1. examine the accounts (under section 43(3) (a) of the 1993 Act)

2. to follow the procedures laid down in the General Direction given by the Charities Commission (under section 43(7) of the 1993 Act); and

3. to state whether particular matters have come my attention.

## Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners . An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as the management committee concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## Independent examiner's statement

In course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1 . which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements

(i) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and (ii) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
