Over this past year the Branch has conlinued to support the Royal Navy providin8 Mentors for Pan One Trainees at HMS RALEIGH. Further support is providcd to the Royal Navy by the Branch in our partlCiP&lion by Branch Members and the Standard Bearer at the many Naval ceremonial events held across the City. We also. at the requesi of ihe Naval Base Funeral Officer, give support to grieving families at the funernls of Shipmates who died in Service. Support of Naval Veterans and their families is at the heart of the Branch Commiltee's focus. much importance is attached to providing and the arranging of meetings and social events. In 2023. as well as the monthly meetings. we have visiicd museums. held several dinner dances. including our Annual (iala Dinner al which we hosied the City Lord Mayor and our own National President, we visited RNA Saltash for a qui7. nighL a skittle eveniny with scampi & chips in a village pub and a wonderful Mess Dinner aboard Admiral Ird Nelson's Flag Ship at the Battle of Trafal8ar HMS VICTORY. Thanks to the Social Committee a fulsome calendar of events from Tot Night in the Mess to Arn)ed Forces Day on Plymouth Hoe, giving Members a broad choice of thin14S to be involved in. so helping to Cnter the possibility of loneliness and isolation and the issues that can brin85 With ii.
