Thetrusteespresenttheirreportwiththefinancialstatementsofthecharityfortheyear ended
31stDecember2023.ThetrusteeshaveadoptedtheprovisionsofAccountingandReportingby Charities:
StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordance with
theFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland(FRS102)(effective1 January
2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and activities
This year I was very pleased that we were able to support another full weeks festival.
Theweekoflunchtimeandeveningconcertswereenthusiasticallyreceivedbytheaudienceswho were
delighted by the live performances of Joseph Haydn's music.
We are already planning another full week of concerts for the 2024/2025 season.
IwanttothanktheTrustees,theFestivalFriendsfortheirfinancialsupport,andallourvolunteersfor their
dedicationtothetaskofsupportingtheTrust'smissionoftheadvancementofclassicalmusic, particularly
relating 18th century compositions, by financially supporting the Festival, and by educational school visits.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
This year the company incurred substantial costs for having two Baryton concerts which was poorly attended.
TheBarytonisa 17thcenturyinstrumenthavingupto 20strings.Haydn'spatronwas veryfondofthis instrument,
and Haydn wrote a number of Baryton Trios.
The instrument lost popularity by the end of the 19th century.
For2024wehavebeenabletoorganisea musicalperformance/demonstration,byChristianSteele-Perkins, for
infant schools.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
Duringtheyearended31stDecember2023,therewasadeficitofincomeoverexpenditureof £4,457
compared to £16,159 last year. The Charity continues to promote classical musical to the local area.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
Thecharityiscontrolledbyitsgoverningdocument,adeedoftrust,dated2ndJune1998,andconstitutes an
unincorporated charity.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Thecharitydoesnotuseanyparticularmethodtorecruitandappointnewtrusteesbutreliesonthe goodwill
and assistance from local residents.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Haydn Festival Trust
Ireporttothecharitytrusteesonmy examinationoftheaccountsofHaydnFestivalTrust(the Trust)forthe year
ended 31st December 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As thecharitytrusteesoftheTrustyouareresponsibleforthepreparationoftheaccountsinaccordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
IreportinrespectofmyexaminationoftheTrust'saccountscarriedoutunderSection145oftheActand in
carryingoutmyexaminationIhavefollowedallapplicableDirectionsgivenbytheCharityCommission under
Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
Ihavecompletedmyexamination.Iconfirmthatnomaterialmattershavecometomyattention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
Ihavenoconcernsandhavecomeacrossnoothermattersinconnectionwiththeexaminationto which
attentionshouldbedrawninthisreportinordertoenableaproperunderstandingoftheaccountsto be
reached.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Thefinancialstatementsofthecharity,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,have been
preparedinaccordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingby Charities:
StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsin accordance
withtheFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland(FRS102) (effective
1January2015)',FinancialReportingStandard102TheFinancialReportingStandardapplicablein the
UKandRepublicofIreland'andtheCharitiesAct2011.Thefinancialstatementshavebeen prepared
on a receipts and payments basis under the historical cost convention.
Income
All incomeisrecognisedintheStatementofFinancialActivitiesoncethecharityhasentitlementto the
funds, the income has been received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructive obligation
committingthecharitytothatexpenditure,atransferofeconomicbenefitswillberequired in
settlementandtheamountoftheobligationcanbemeasuredreliably.Expenditureisaccounted for
onanpaymentsbasisandhasbeenclassifiedunderheadingsthataggregateallcostrelatedto the
category.Wherecostscannotbedirectlyattributedtoparticularheadingstheyhavebeen allocated
to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestrictedfundscanbeusedinaccordancewiththecharitableobjectivesatthediscretionof the
trustees.
Restrictedfundscanonlybeusedforparticularrestrictedpurposeswithintheobjectsofthe charity.
Restrictionsarisewhenspecifiedbythedonororwhenfundsareraisedforparticular restricted
purposes.

statements.
