## **2. Structure, Governance and Management** 

Governing Documents:  Current constitution was adopted on 27 May 1960. 

Constitution:  Charity 

Appointment of trustees: The trustees are:  Officers of the Association (Chair, Treasurer and Secretary). Ordinary committee members elect to be trustees.  Officers are appointed by the members at Special General Meetings.

## **3. Objectives and Activities** 



The aim of the village hall committee is to provide and maintain a safe and usable environment for the use by local residents privately or in organised groups, and to maintain the hall and its surrounding areas. 

These objectives are achieved through a series of fundraising events organised by the committee, together with private hire, private donations, and the attainments of grants where available. 

Public benefit statement:  The Trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Commission in exercising their powers or duties. 

## **4. Achievement and performance** 

During this year of Covid-19 restrictions, grants from local government and private donations have helped secure our hall finances and allowed the full refurbishment of the Hall and its surrounding areas.  This has significantly improved the facilities available for use by local residents and groups. 

## **5. Financial Review** 

The Village Hall income was £26723, with our main income coming from grants and private donations.  The main expenditure was on the full hall refurbishment of £20061. 

A statement of accounts is presented. 

## **6. Declaration**

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Acklam Willage Hall
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Acklam Village Hall
(the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of roport
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are resporssible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordan￿ with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all
the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5){b) of
the Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to
my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in
any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the trust as required by se.ctlon
130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the
fomi and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true
and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent
examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a
proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
