STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes an unincorporated charity.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Trustees are recruited from people already showing interest in and being involved with the charity in some way. They are known to existing trustees personally and/or professionally and are considered by reputation and personal knowledge to be of good character. All existing members of the committee are involved in approving an appointment. New members are made awareofthe charity commission website. If they do not have internet access, then relevant information can be printed off for them. Updated information from the charity commission is currently received by email by the Treasurer and this is forwarded onto any committee members with email access. Relevant matters are brought to the attention of all trustees at committee meetings, which are held once a month or at other times as relevant. In addition to the trustees, the committee has members who are not trustees. All charity decisions are made by the committee.
Related parties
The charity has a related party, The Cancer Challenge Singers, which is a choir that raises funds for the charity.
Risk management
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

We are aware of the public benefit requirement and consider these items of equipment to provide significant public benefit to a wide cross-section of the local populace.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Fundraising activities During the year the charity continued in its fundraising activities and the collection of donations.
The Minibox+ which was agreed to be purchased prior to the year ended 30 September 2024, was funded during the year at a cost of £34,150. In addition, a donation of £3,000 was made to Ty Olwen for the purchase of a specialist chair for patient use.
Commitments
At the year end the charity committed to fund the purchase of a number of Portable Bladder scanners at an estimated cost of £36,000.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves policy
Reserves are held only until such time as they are sufficient to purchase the specific equipment for which funds are being raised.
Investment policy and objectives
The trustees may hold investments on behalf of the charity. Reserves for a specific purpose are held in a bank deposit account until such time as funds sufficient for the purpose have been accumulated.

ie ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Accounting convention The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis as permitted by Section 133 of the Charities Act 2011.
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
Resources expended Expenditure is accounted for on a payments basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to headings, they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Stocks
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow-moving items.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
