## **AGM Report**

## **Septemeber 2023- May- 2024**

In the last year we... Reached 1769 young people. Ran 269 Mentoring sessions. Held 113 Youth Cafe sessions. Saw 6 young people confirmed. Worked in 4 schools. Equipped 2 young leaders

## **Staffing**

Steph Pring took on the role of Director in May 2023, transitioning from her role as Church Partnership Worker.

Catherine Stephenson volunteered for Coventry Youth for Christ a day a week this academic year and has supported our work through mentoring she left to take up a payed role as a mentor in July 23.

Steph Pring moved on from Coventry Youth for Christ in April 2024. We are grateful to her for all the work that she did and energy she gave, for the last 2 years while working for Coventry Youth for Christ.

We are currently recruiting for a Pioneering Youth Worker.

Paul and Bose joined the trustees.

## **Safeguarding**

There has been one safeguarding issue reported to St James C of E Whitley in October 2023 concerning a young person's emotional wellbeing. This was immediately passed onto the safeguarding officer at St James C of E Whitley.

All staff and trustees are up to date with safeguarding training through Thirtyone:eight organisations including Jo Simonds and Pete Gardiner completing the Trustees safeguarding.

## **Church Partnership Role**

The St Christopher’s Youth Cafe continues to thrive, with around 15 young people attending each week. Steph continued to serve the church during the first term, however they now have enough team to successfully run the youth cafe independently and have therefore dropped out of the church partnership agreement with Coventry Youth for Christ.

At St Catherines, Steph and the team there continued to serve hot chocolates each week. This has built to serve around 80 drinks each week. Steph has also helped run holiday clubs in half term and Easter as a result of this.

At St James, the Youth Cafe is regularly getting around 10 young people attending. Again the team have stepped up and they have been running the Youth Cafe themselves since the new year.

## **Schools**

Steph supported Bluecoat school by running a lunch club each week, building relationship with the students there. She also led assemblies to the whole school in October on the theme of integrity.

Steph mentored 4 young people at Ernesford Grange, helping with mental health and wellbeing, as well as behaviour issues.

We would like to thank all the workers and volunteers for the time and dedication they have given to our work supporting seeing young lives changed by Jesus in Coventry.
