Sponsored Read. preschool discos and book and brew afternoon to raise funds to pay for activities, new equipment and a pre-school trip. We funded a polar express trip for the children to go on a train to see Santa and Santa gave a grft at the train station. We funded a In'p to a local dentist where children learned how to brush their teeth property and they all got to experience what a trip to the denlist looks like from ￿aItIng in the V•Biting area to sitting in the patients dental chair. We funded a trip to Creswell crags where children got to explore the Harley foundation gallery's bear hunt trail. Continue to provide play, education and childcare facilities to the 'Outstsnding' Ofsted standard achieved in our last inspection. Stsff develop and extend their skills by attending courses across a de range of relevant areas, including language, behaviour and special needs. Performance was assessed through an annual appraisal and regular supervisions. Invited parentslcarers into pre-school to share in their child's leaming linking activities (such as reading a story or baking) to the main areas of the Earfy Years Foundation Stage {EYFS) framework. Vve held a graduation celebration at the end of the academic year to wish the children transitioning to school luck in the next stage of their educational joumey. Forest School sessions continue. utilising a site on a local fami and providing opportunitie5 for children to experien￿ learning through play in the natural environment of the surrounding area. We have a 'Speech & Language Lead. forthe setting to identify children where addrtional support in development is needed. They are integral in targeling and securing exira specialised support available from the LA and attend courses and termly meetings. We have two qualified Special Educational Needs & Disability Co- ordinator (SENDCO) with a deeper understanding and awareness of the issues faced by children with more complex needs. We also have a Praditioner who is responsible for Ghildren with English as an Additional Language (EAL). We have two Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) who work together in taking responsibilty lor any child protection issues. We continue to be involved with supporting local communty groups.. We shared a Nativity with St. Luke's Church tailored to meet the needs of pre-school age children. The children enjoyed short trips out ofthe village on trains and buses. leaming more about different fO￿S of transport.
