Election of Trustees - P Gregg
E Cotterill & R Marshall stepped down from being Trustees. They were thanked for their hard work over the years (22 in R Marshall’s case!). Two nominees had been put forward. In order to retain the agreed seven-person Trusteeship, the 2 nominees; R Wookey and S Mack, were duly and unanimously voted in.
Accounts – L Farthing
Copies of the accounts were handed out. Income for the year: £25,008 Balance at the end of March 2021: £5,358 L Farthing talked through the accounts and took questions.
Prayer – R Marshall
The use of Zoom meetings had increased the number of attendees at prayer meetings. Many local & international items had been prayed for over the year.
The intention is to return to in-person meetings as Covid-19 restrictions permit.
Shalom – D Newman, L Newman
All agreed that the that these midweek Zoom worship meeting had been a real blessing. The meetings are now suspended until the autumn of 2021.
Sozo – A Gregg
These prayer ministry meetings have now been suspended as F Fox has moved away from Rugby. Information on Sozo has now been removed from the Grapevine website.
Rugby House of Prayer (RHoP) – A Gregg
This prayer meeting closed down through the Covid-19 lockdown and it is still not yet certain how it will continue. The focus of praying for countries, governments, big issues etc. was still at the heart of Grapevine as a “watchman” church; it was the format for the praying which was being reconsidered.
Good Book Club – A Gregg
This Bible study group continued to meet using Zoom. It has been a real blessing to the participants.
Building – L Farthing
The premises have been less used during the Covid-19 lockdowns, but it has been possible for the worship group to use the facilities, with the service then being broadcast to the congregation using Zoom. It was necessary to purchase suitable cameras etc to enable this. A one-way system and sanitisation stations had been set up to be Covid compliant.
The kitchen was damaged by a steam leak from a water boiler. A new boiler & replacement units have now been fitted.
Elders Report – P Gregg & D Newman
Over the past year and a half, so many churches have members who have lost touch with each other. But Grapevine has remained a close fellowship. Zoom meetings have helped to some extent. But the main reason has been the members of the congregation and the elders would like to thank every member of the congregation for working hard to maintain the family feel and sense of community which has continued for us.
Thanks were expressed to:
Preachers throughout lockdown:
D Newman, S Mack, M and N Sarvis (on Zoom from Israel), L Farthing, L Littlewood, G Miti, P Gregg, A Gregg
Worship leaders
D & L Newman, S & K Newman, B Larassey Worship group: M Miti, L Barrow, A Gregg, P Gregg D & L Newman led Shalom meetings right through lockdown
Zoom
P & A Gregg organised the meetings and designed the camera system which had been a real labour of love with many hours spent sourcing and designing the set up Thanks to all the tech team for getting on board with that:
They have been: L & G Farthing, S & K Mack, A Mee, J Barrow, R Wookey, E Cotterill Also thanks to all those who wired the cameras and did the stage painting.
A Mee had decided to step down from his work with the live sound; he is to be part of the camera team. Thanks were expressed for all his hard work over many years.
Accounts
Thanks to G Farthing for doing these
Trustees
Thanks to leaving trustees, R Marshall & E Cotterill, after many years’ service. R Marshall has led the prayer meetings, and L Salvatierra & K Mack have also hosted them
The Yahoo group has now finished and the WhatsApp group has taken over quite efficiently. Thank you, R Marshall for years of dedication to the original Prayer Chain.
A Gregg has been running the Good Book Club
Special thank you to F Fox for running the Bethel Sozo for so many years.
P Gregg has taught the What every Christian should know course for Grapevine and St John’s Hillmorton, although currently in abeyance for health reasons. This was 2 nights a week for most of lockdown.
Thank you to all those who kept the building in order throughout lockdown e.g. flushing the toilets.
And to those who renovated the kitchen, D & L Newman headed it up, and L Farthing sorted the new water heater.
A Gregg maintains the Grapevine website and K Mack runs the Grapevine Facebook group. It can take many hours of their time to get it right, as they do. (K Mack would value any suggestion for the postings)
Recent Breakfasts have been organized by D & L Newman, P & A Gregg, with input from R Marshall.
The church is blessed with many creative people:
D & L Newman produced a Worship CD – “Isobars”
L Barrow has put up inspirational banners
A Mee has made an astonishing menorah
P Gregg has written and published a book with a clear Gospel message in it.
AOB
Would the church consider sending a donation to the Chosen? This was deferred to the next Trustees Meeting.
