Principal activity and review of the year The main activity is to provide sanctuary for unwanted or sick animals. During the year the trust received bequests and donations which have enabled it to continue its objectives. Apart from maintaining stables and fields the charity has bought various items of equipment to facilitate and prornote its work. The trust produced a moderate surplus of £4,530 for the year. Status The trust was established in 1997 to operilte in the South Wirral, Cheshire and Wirral Merseyside to relieve the sufyering of aniinals of any species who are in need of care and attention. The trust is to provide or maintain refuges or rescue homes or aniinal hospitals or sanctuaries t'or the reception and care of unwantcd animals aiid the treatnient of sick or ill treated animals. Responsfibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination, I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I have completed my exaniination. I confirn] that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in any inaterial respect.. accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act, or the accounts do nol accord with the accounting records. I have no concerns and have come across no other Inatters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
