The menknrs of the charity are individuals ¢ompani•$ or organlsatlons who are Interested In furtherfng the work of
the charity and who aro not paid, or volunteer wort(ers of Ihe charity. Each member has one vote.
The ordinary membership, as wo11 as makewup of the Trustee Board, 18 rewewed Annually prior to the Annual
General Meeting. We carry out a skills audit and an a$￿$m¢nI of the dWrslty of the Board. Thls Is followed by a
recruitment campaign for both ordlnary members and potenti81 Trustees. This is done using our extensive neiwo
across Ihe lo￿1 voluntary and community S•¢tor as well as $￿clarIs1 agen¢le$.

A TNsts8 Board, of up to 13 membern. administers the charity. They meet four times per year with additional
quarterty meetlngs of the sub-committees for Finan¢e & Resources and Peopk & Effe¢llveness. The Ch￿f Executlve
of the oraanisalion has been appolnled by the Trustees to manage the day-ID-day operation5 Of the charity. In
additlon. the￿ 1$ an experienced tsam of paid staff and a substantial team ol volunteer8 who are key to the servke
offered by tho Charity.

wages and benefit levels have stagnated.

Many of our residents h8ve found Ihem58l¥es trapped in negatwe budget situations Whe￿ they $lmpty have more
golng out than coming in. For many of our cllents surviving month to month is an a¢hlevemenl. For many in our
borough this year has been when they have had to choose befyveen ealing and heating.
Our advicè model 1$ designed lo get the relevant support to peoplE as quickly as possible. Initial contact is routed via
the telephone system with information also aVa1kb￿ online via our new website. We remain part of CitA's Group
Equity Model IGEMI, where ¢apacity lo answer calls to Adviceline are shared betsveen a group of bureaus, allowing
for broader coverage to assist clients.
A large proportion of our demand is as a result of"failure" by ststutory agencie5 particularly the local authority. We
continue to work at removing this demand by produciNJ better systems enabling people to access the support they
need wilhoul having lo make numerous trips or phone (xlls and by reducll￿ the amount of limes people are handed
off to another member of stsff.
We continue lo engage with the wider voluntsry and community sector as key partners on the VCS CEO group and
via the voluntsry sector forum. In addition lo the IAG contract we have also delivered the Help through Cri8is proi8Ct
fund&J by the GLA and the Private Rented Sector project fvnded ty the Big Lottery and delivered in partnership with
Pro-Bono Communities.

financial stewardship and encouraged greater fundraising activity to ensure the sustainability and further
development of the organisalion.

The charity received funding from ihe London Borough of Haringey. We Are L)igital, Big Lotteryl Pro-bono Communilies

Haringey. through the core gateway and appointment services at the bureau and outfe8ch servKes in he81th hubs and
specialist projects.
We continue lo pursue other funding opportunities as they wise, in accordance with our three-year funding strategy

The Charity ￿11 continue lo relain a prudent amount in reserves each year. Most of the charity's funds are to be spent

and Wales. In the event of the Charity L*ing wound up. the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited io £1
per member of the Charity. The address of Ihe registered office is 20E Wallheof Gardens. London, N17 7DN.
The nature of the Charity's operations and principal activities are the promotion of any charitable pu￿0$85 for
the benefit of the community in Haringey arwj surrounding areas by the advan￿ment of edu¢aiKJn. the
protection of health and the relief of povety. sl¢krw and distress.
The Charfty consI￿uteS a public b8n8fft entity d•fined ty FRS 102. The financial statements have been
preparwj in accordance with Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charilies prepaTirvJ thèir
financial statements in accordance with the Financial Reporting Stsndard appllcable In the UK and R8wblic
of Ireland {FRS 1021 issued in October 2019, the Fknanclal Reporting Slandartl applicable in the United

The financial statements are prepared on a going coneem basis under the historical cost ￿nVention. The
financial 51alernents are prepared in sleding which is the functional ¢urrency of the Charity and rounded to the
nearest £.
