Wooler Evangelical Church
Registered Charity Number: 1069285
Trustees, Annual Report and Accounts
for the year ended 31st August 2025

Trustees are appointed by the church members. Current trustees serving in the
financial period reported on were: Mr. S. Hawkin, (Chairman>, Mr A. Fairnington
(Secretary), and Mr A. Scott.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP
The governing documents of the church are the Trust Deed and The Constitution,
under the supreme authority of the Bible.
The pastor is Mr Rob Parson who serves along wlth two other elders: Mr. S Hawkfn and
Mr. M. Fulton.
Wooler Evangelical Church is in the process of changing from a Charitable
Unincorporated Association to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. During the
transition it became apparent that there has been historic confusion over WEC'S legal
structure as there is a Trust Deed and a Constitution. The leaders - with the guidance
of Edward Connor Solicitors - are seeking to rectify this through the setting up of the
CIO whlch will be the successor charity to both the Trust and the CUA. The CIO
{Charity number 1215513) has already been registered and is accessible on the Charity
Cornmission website. Pat Thompson and Mark Fulton were appointed trustees in March
2026, joining A17Stair Fairnington as trustees of the Trust. {Former trustee Alan Scott
dled in September 2025.) Stephen Hawkin, Robert Parson and Mark Fulton as the
church elders are re8arded as trustees of the CUA and will be the trustees of the CIO.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT to the Trustees of Wooler Evangelical Church
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the period 1st September 2024 to 31 st August
2025.
Respectlve ResponsSbllltles of Trustees and Examlner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The
charity's trustees consider that an audfit is not required for this year under section 144
of the Charities Act 2011 Ithe Charities Act) and that an independent examination is
needed.
It fs my responslbillty to:
o examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
o to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the
Charity Commission (under section 145{5){b) of the Charities Act), and
o to state whether particular rnatters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examfiner's statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by
the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It
also includes considerat70n of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and
seeking explanations from the trustees regarding any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present 'a true and fair,
vlew and the report Is 15mited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examlner's statement
In connectlon with my examination, no matter has come to my attention (other than
that dlsclosed below.): 'Please delete words In brackets If not appllcable.
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the
requirements:
to keep accountin8 records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities
Act;
o to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply
wlth the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met"
or
2. to which, in my opinlon, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understandi
f the accounts to be reached.
