Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31[st] August 2024
Trustees are appointed by the church members. Current trustees serving in the financial period reported on were: Mr. S. Hawkin, (Chairman), Mr A. Fairnington (Secretary), and Mr A. Scott.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP
The governing documents of the church are The Statement of Faith and The Constitution, under the supreme authority of the Bible.
The pastor is Mr Rob Parson who serves along with two other elders: Mr. S Hawkin and Mr. M. Fulton.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The church is committed to advancing the good news of the gospel, for the benefit of mankind in general; that is, that salvation is found through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the cross of Calvary; throughout Northumberland and the Borders, and further afield in the United Kingdom and the world.
ACTIVITIES
There are a number of activities which reflect our commitment to these areas:

Worship on Sundays at 10.30am and 6.00pm to which all are welcome. Sunday school and crèche facilities are also available during the morning service

Weekly Bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings (7.30pm)

Weekly meeting for ladies to share and encourage each other from the Bible

Four ‘Special Bible Ministry Weekends’ are held each year with visiting speakers
The above meetings are publicised and are open to all. Other activities include:

‘Friday Club’ for children 5–15 years old - Bible stories, quizzes, singing and games

‘Tots n Toys’ is a well-attended, weekly mums and toddlers’ group

Christian literature is available to distribute locally and further afield
The trustees, elders and all those working with children and vulnerable adults have been subject to DBS checks.
The trustees have complied with their duty in section 4 of the Charities Act (2011) to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Receipts for the year totalled £47,938 (2023 - £49,138).
Payments for the year totalled £61,983 (2023 - £61,376).
Excess church funds are currently held in a Virgin Money Charity Deposit Account - £84,199. Monies from the legacies received were invested on 23[rd] April, 2020 through Hubwise Securities Ltd., in BMO MM Navigator Distribution Fund C Inc. Value of this investment holding on 31[st] August 2024 - £123,238. The church has no written reserves policy.
