Wooler Evangelical Church is constituted by Trust Deed and is a Registered Charity, number 1069285 (England & Wales).

Trustees are appointed by the church members. Current trustees serving in the financial period reported on were: Mr. S. Hawkin, (Chairman), Mr A. Fairnington (Secretary), and Mr A. Scott.

Structure, Governance and Leadership

The governing documents of the church are The Statement of Faith and The Constitution, under the supreme authority of the Bible.

The church appointed Mr Rob Parson as pastor who serves along with two other elders: Mr. S Hawkin and Mr. M. Fulton.

Aims and Objectives

The church is committed to advancing the good news of the gospel, for the benefit of mankind in general; that is, that salvation is found through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the cross of Calvary; throughout Northumberland and the Borders, and further afield in the United Kingdom and the world.

The trustees have complied with their duty in section 4 of the Charities Act (2011) to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission.

Receipts for the year totalled £49,138 (2022 - £45,150)

Payments for the year totalled £61,376 (2022 - £38,832)

Excess church funds are currently held in a Virgin Money Charity Deposit Account - £83,841. Monies from the legacies received were invested on 23[rd] April, 2020 through Hubwise Securities Ltd., in BMO MM Navigator Distribution Fund C Inc. Value of this investment holding on 31[st] August 2023 - £110,658. The church has no written reserves policy.

Independent examinerfs report to the Trustees of Wooler Evangelical Churth I report on the accounts of the Trust for the period 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023. Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible forthe preparation of the accounts.The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act), and o to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of independent examlner's statement My exarnination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees regarding any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whetherthe accounts present'a true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
