Wooler Evangelical Church st TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT for the PERIOD 1 SEPTEMBER 2019 to 31st AUGUST 2020. Wooler Evangelical Church is constituted by Trust Deed and is a Registered Charityg number 1069285 (England & Wales). Trustees are appointed by the church members. Current trustees serving in the financial period reported on were: Mr. S. Hawkin, (Chairman taking over the role from A. Fairnington on 21st October 2019), Mr A. Fairnington (Secretary), and Mr A. Scott. Structure, Governance and Leadership The governing documents of the church are The Statement of Faith and The Constitution, under the supreme authority of the Bible. The church currently has three elders: Mr. M. Veitch (Pastor), Mr. A. Fairnington, and Mr. M. Fulton. Aims and Objectives The church is committed to advancing the Good News of the Gospel, for the benefit of mankind in general; that is, that salvation is found through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the Cross of Calvary; throughout Northumberland and the Borders, and further afield in the United Kingdom and the world. Activities There are a number of activities which reflect our commitment to these areas: o Worship on Sundays at 11am and 6pm to which all are welcome. Sunday school and crèche facilities are also available during the morning service o Weekly Bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings (7.3opm) o Weekly meeting for ladies to share and encourage each other from the Bible o Occasional men's breakfasts and curry nights with a Gospel message o Four'special Bible Ministry Weekends, are held each year with visiting speakers The above meetings are publicised and are open to all. Other activities include: 'Friday Club, for children 5-15 years old - Bible stories, quizzes, singing and games o Friday Club held a special Christmas event for family members, along-with a beetle drive, and a summer barbecue 'Tots n Toys, is a well-attended, weekly mums and toddlers, group o Monthly services are held in a local residential home o Christian literature is available to distribute locally? and further afield The Trustees, and all those working with children and vulnerable adults have been subject to DBS checks. Covid 1 All the above activities were curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic when the church th building was closed from 16 March to 2. August 2020. The building reopened for Sunday morning worship as the trustees put restrictions in place according to the government's Guidance on the Safe Use of Places of Worship.

Wooler Evangelical Church During the time the building was closed several activities continued using 'zoom' (Sunday morning service with a discussion in the evening, Wednesday evening prayer, and the older group of Friday Club). Contact has been maintained with the younger group of Friday Club through printed weekly stories and worksheets being posted to them. There has been contact also by post with the families of those in Tots n Toys. The Trustees have complied with their duty in section 4 of the Charities Act (2011) to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission. Financial review Receipts for the year totalled £147,432 (Including legacies. 2019 - £48,382). Payments for the year totalled £1601090 (2019- £51,044). Excess church funds are currently held in an equity share in the Pastor's house (£80,000), a Virgin Money Charity Deposit Account (£43,841). Monies from the legacies received were invested through Hubwise Securities Ltd., in BMO MM Navigator Distribution Fund C Inc (£98,829 at cost)- The church has no written reserves policy.

Wooler Evangelical Church INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT to the Trustees of Wooler Evangelical Church st st I report on the accounts of the Trust for the period 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2020. Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, o to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act), and o to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees regarding any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present'a true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
