Objectives and activities:
The objects of tlle charity stated in its trust dced are gencrdl charitablc purposes at the trustees. discretion.
Th¢ I￿￿te¢s, policy is to support the following charitable activities..
&) Assisting physically handicapped people.
b) Giving young people a better start in life though providing fi￿d5 for technical training.
c) Supporting hospice care for the temiinally ill.
d) Providing help for people who are severely deaf andlor blind.
e) Nature conseryancy.
Any other causes that the tsustees consider to be &ppropriate.
To 2¢bieve these objectives, and in view of the funds available, a registercd chkrity was created t(>
administer the funds and to make grants for the objects stated above.
The trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to bave due regard to the
guidance published by the Charity Commission and in particular public bcllcfit guidance.
Achlevements and Performance:
The LNstees n￿nItOr tbe work of the charities to which grants are paid by rcading annual alld other reports
suppli¢d by those charities.
The tnLStees believe that pthlic benefit has been delivered in thc ar¢as of the advxnc¢menl of education,
the advancement of health, thc advanccmcnt of eit17Lnship 2nd thc relief of those in need by re280n of
youth, ill-health, disability and fmancial hardship. Public benefit will Gontinuc to b¢ a¢hiev¢d by ¢nsurin8
that grants issued meet the charity's objectivcs and arc in the publi¢ interest.
Flnanclal Revlew:
Th¢ INst has a strong and stable f￿ancial position at the balancc sbcet date. with investments v21ueAI at
£2,157,110 and current assets of £154,497. There are minimal ¢reditor8 and unrestric¢¢d fund resery¢s of
over £2 million.
It is the tNstees' inteniion to distribute the whole of the available income y¢ar by year and to maintain th¢
reserv¢s level in OTd¢r to ¢ontinue to generate income frorn invcslmcrLt&
The management of the Itust's investment portfolio is in the hands of Charl¢s Stanley & Co Ltd. The
¢h•ity's investment policy is to invcst thc funds available to ￿hl¢ve a balance of illcome generntion 8nd
capital growth, with due consideration to ethical and ciivironm¢nlal factors.
The tDtstees believe the chaiiry's assets are adequat¢ Lo thlfil its obligations and consider that the tNst will
remain a going concern well into thc for&s¢¢able fithire, for i minimum of ttvelve months after the
reportins date.
The tNst ELas scl up a system to idelltify and pay grants to individual charities. Gr8nts of £67,000 were
made during the year.
Grdnts of bctweets £2,000 and £5,000 were awarded during the year.

Strueture> governance and management:
The Ttwt is eonstithted as an Unin¢0￿Or￿1td charitable trust rcgistcrcd with thc Charity Commission in the
Manag¢tnent of the charity was vested in four tru8tee8 for the period, two of whom were the executors of
the lal¢ Richard Radcliffc's will.
All of the trustees named on page I, bave served tbroughout the year, one trnstee has died since the year
end, but the other three have continued to scryc. Appointment of trustees is governed by the TLUSt Deed of
tELe charity whereby the existing trustees have the power to #ppoint further tn]stees as required. When a
fi￿her lThstee is appointed, they are introduced to their new role and given copies of the (rust deed and a
guidc to thc policics and proccdurcs adoptcd by the charity. A numbcr of publications from the Charity
Collllnission are also provided to en8ure that new tt￿teeS are aware of the scope of their responsibiliti
wider the Charitic5 Act.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER
As the charity's trustses, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Acf,).
We report in respert of our examination of the Trust's a¢￿Ull￿ carried oul under section 145 of th¢
2011 Act and in carying out our examination, we have followed all the applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 145{5)(b) of the Act.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
Our examillation was Ca￿led out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners and under s145 of the Charities Act 2011. An examination includes a review of the
accounting records kept by the chaTity and a comparis¢m of the financial statements presented with
those recoiils. It also includes eonsidcration of any unusual items of disclosurcs in the accounts. and
s¢¢king explanations from you as trustees concerning ally such ll￿tter$. The pn)c¢dur¢s undertaken do
