REPORT OF THE TRusfEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023
Plans for tbe future:
Our plans are to modernisc the system of governance of the Charity, for C￿lmple by updaling the
Constitution. We have approached solicitor5 for legal advice and are entering into discussion with
RSPCA HQ, which is an interested party. In addilion. we are seeking to develop a fricnds websilc
and have put this out to tender to a small number of website design companies.
With regard to the Ccntre itself, w¢ are looking at providing a significant grant towards providing a
water feature and enrichment for thc dogs in the larg¢ compound. This work is subject lo HQ
approval bcfore ive can begin to seek estimates for the cost.
Reserves policy:
The Trustees do not currently have a fornial reserves policy but hold a lcvcl of reserves, which is
suffictent for the charity to mcet future costs such as vets, bills and equipment. The appropriat¢ level
of reserves and the need for a fornial policy is undcr ffview by the current Committee.
Statement of trustees. respoD5ibilities:
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare Financial Staiernents for each financial year. In preparing
these financial statem¢nls the trustees are required to select suitabl¢ accounting poli¢i¢s and then apply
them consistenily.
The trustee5 are responsible for keeping propcr accounting records which disclose with reasonablc
accurdcy at any time. the financial position of the Charity and to enable them to ensure that the
rinancial statements comply with the chariti￿ A¢t 1993.
