Our approach lo identifying and assessing the risks of material mi$$latement in respecl of irregularities, including
fraud and non-compliance with laws and regulations. was as follows..
the engagement partner ensured that the engagement team collectively had the appropriate compelenary.
capabilities and skills to identify or recognise non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations,.
we identified the laws and regulations applicable to the charity through di$￿$S1On8 wlh trustees and other
management. and ftom our knowledge and experience of charity 5ector',
we focusèd on spe¢ifi¢ laws and regulations whi¢h we ￿nsidered may have a direct material effect on the
financial statements or the operations of the charity, including Chafilies AfA 2011, data protection & anti-
bribery.
we assessed the extent of ￿MplIance with the laws and regulation5 identified above through making
enquiries of management team and inspecting legal correspondence,. and Identh'fied laws and iegulalions
were communicated within the audrt team regulady and the team remained alert lo instances of non-
compliance throughout the audit.
We assessed the susceptibility of the Charivs finartial slalemenls to materlal misstslement, induding obtaining an
understanding of how fraud might occur, by..
• making enquiries of management team as lo where they considered there was susceptikn'lity to fraud, their
knowledge of actual, suspected and alloged fraud.. and
considering the intemal controls in pla￿ to mitigate risks of fraud and non-compliance with laws arKI
regulations.
To addross the risk of fraud through management bias and override of wntro15, we..
perfom)ed analytical procedures lo identify any unusual or unexpecte(I relationships.,
tested joumal entries to Identify unusual transactions.,
assessed whether judgements and assumptions made In ddemining the ae£ounting estimates wore
indicabve of potential bias., and
investigated the rationale behind significant or unusual transact￿n$.
In response lo the risk of irregularr¢ies and non-compliance wth laws and regulations, we designed procedur
