## **Annual Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 July 2020**

As with many other charities we faced unprecedented challenges both operationally and financially as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.

We saw a significant drop in our income as a result of this alongside a change in timing from Sheffield City Council with their contract. To meet their targets and performance requirements a lot of preparatory work and planning is needed, and we decided to carry this on in anticipation of later income generation. This has proven to be a correct view and in 2020 / 2021 income will be back to previous levels. We have though lost personal budget income from clients which we can retain in longer term but the immediate loss of this during this financial cannot be recovered.

The Charity has taken full advantage of grant and supports available which has helped offset some of the financial impacts. It has though been necessary to fall back on our reserves, so we have been able to continue to meet pastoral and other responsibilities using our team fully albeit from remote working arrangements.

As ever the team have responded magnificently to these new arrangements and we have been very busy supporting clients who are impacted in many ways by the pandemic. This is the core of our operation and the societal and individual support we have been able to deliver is outstanding.

We face the future with optimism and confidence but remain adept at changing as the economy and our clients hopefully emerge from this very difficult time sometime very soon.

## **Independent Examiner's Report for the year ended 31 July 2020**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity ("the Trust"), set out on pages 2 to 4, for the year ended 31 July 2020.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act").

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
