Crayke Sports Club and Village Hall Trustee’s Annual Report 2022

Charity Number: 1068246

Sections A and B are unchanged

Section C

Objectives and activities:

Summary of the main activities undertaken for public benefit:

In summary, Crayke Sports Club and Village Hall enjoyed a productive year fulfilling our vision to provide the Parish and wider community with a thriving and inclusive asset for everyone’s enjoyment. This has been realised by ensuring the Sporting and Social needs of all are met in equal measure.

The financial returns generated have enabled the committee to carry out the works required to the fabric of the building and the grounds, alongside maintaining continued financial stability of the Sports Club and Village Hall.

Section D

Summary of the main achievements during the year:

Our regular bookings of Crayke Toddlers and Fitness Classes resumed and continued to grow from strength to strength.

The Pilmoor Cricket team advanced to the semi-finals, the best result in more than forty years and we were again asked to host the final. Thanks as always to our President Andy for his endless devotion and hard work over the many years.

Quickly becoming a very popular annual event, a great turn out enjoyed a very successful evening and thanks as always to Donald for his hard work feeding the masses.

The fact Crayke is chosen to host this event annually is a huge affirmation of the work we have done over the years to make the Sports Club and Village Hall the number one choice.

Tennis enjoyed a successful year but the Football team unfortunately folded due to lack of local players. Sadly, this is a problem for many smaller communities.

Correspondences have been sent to a number of Football Associations and local oversubscribed clubs in the hope of attracting players back to Crayke in the near future.

Club and Hall organised functions such as Band Nights, the annual Village Produce Show, Saturday Socials, Jubilee Celebrations, Pilmoor Cricket, Bonfire Night, and the Christmas Party were very popular and well attended by the Village generating much needed funds from ticket and Bar sales to carry out general running repairs and important investments in modern upgrades.

These include:

Redecoration of Bar Area.

New glass fronted fridge for the bar.

New carpets in the bar lounge area.

New windows in the main Hall.

Replace front facier.

Locate and fix drainage issues.

Re-installation of outside Clock.

Painting of all outside field facing woodwork.

Purchasing of Bar Lounge Chairs.

Purchasing of new TV.

Towards the end of year weekly friendship lunches started on Mondays after toddlers and proved very popular with all ages. Through the warmer months this event has continued on a monthly basis and is continuing to be well attended. Thanks to those that have organised, provided food and run the lunch and continue to do so.
