The trustees prosent their report with the financial slalements of the charity for the period ended 31 August 2022.

Policies and objectlv¢$
The princlpal object of the charity is to advance the education of the students attending The Misboume.
The school fund is also used for fundraising purposes. One of the main fund-raising activities in the current year
has been for resources for the new spons hall Ihai was completed in the sumtner term 2022. Thib lnLlud￿d ¢1
qummer l&rm trail run that raised £6.394. The charity has raised ftjnds through Amazon Smile. Just Givino, Miz
Fund and Gift Aid.
The We Will Rock You concert was an in-year success and raised a further £200 to onward school productions,
which are growing in Strength and incorporate a range of students from KS3 - KS5.

The Charity undertook educational trips to enhance pupils, greater understanding of their place in society and in
selecting such educational trips the Trusteès have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on publi
benefit.

expenditure was significantly higher than in the previous year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic preventing trips

Investment policy and performance
Under the trust deed, the Trustees may invest money as they see fit. The charity will seek lo maximise the return
on any cash balances by utilising higher rate bank accounts where appropriate. The charity will not make any
other form of investment.
Financial review
Going coneern
After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate
resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details Tegarding the adoption of the going
concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.
Reserves policy
The Trustees consider a reserve in the region of £25,000 to be appropriate.
The reserves policy is to be rgviewed annually by the TTUStees.

charity is c(Jnlrnllp.d hy itq governing document, a deed of trust, and constilutgs an unincorporated chtsrity.
Methods of appolntment or electlon of Trusteès
The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are olecled and co opted under the
terms of the Trust deed.
Trustees are recruited to fill vacancies on the basis of the skills set they offer the Charity. New Trustees are
acqiiainled with the Charity Commission's publicaliong particularly with regardtr tts Good Covcrnanco.
Organlsatlonal structure and decislon making policies
The day lo day administration of the charity is carried out by staff of The Misbourne School in conjunction with
the Trustee5.
Plans for future periods
The Trustees will continue to seek lo advance the education of the students attending The Misboume School by
encouraging participation in school trips and seeking to support the school in its development.

preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK

The financial slalements have been prepared lo give a 'lrue and f8il view and have departed froTn

1.2 Income
All income is recognised onee the charity has entillemenl lo the income, il is probable that the income
will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
Income tax recoverable in relation lo donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is
recognised at the time of Ihe Llvncilivn.
1.3 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit
lo a third paty, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in selllemenl and
the amDunl of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs
of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs
Involved in undertaking each activity.
ExpenditLJre relating lo future educational trips is deferred into the financial year in which the trips
occur.
Governance costs are those incurred in ¢onne¢lion with administration of the charity and compliance
with conslitulional 2nd statutory requirements.
LhaTilable activities and Govemance cosrs are cosis incurred on the Charitys educational operations,
including support costs and costs re121ing lo the governance of the charity apportioned to charitable
activities.
All expenditure is inclusive of irrecoverable VAT.

Interest on funds held on deposit is included when receivable and the amount can be measured
