## **Charity details** 

The charity is run by volunteers from the parent and teacher community of St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton, who are known as the Napton School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) whose official name is St Lawrence School Association (SLSA). The key roles within the charity are: 

- Chair Person 

- Vice Chairperson 

- Treasurer 

- Secretary 

These roles are filled by members of the PTA and appointed at the AGM each year in October. 

The trustees are appointed from volunteers within the PTA, and the PTA meets regularly during school term time. 

## **2024-2025 activities and objectives** 

Each year the charity aims to run a range of fundraising activities to enable the funding of items or services for St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton to advance the education of the pupils in the school. 

The charity ran several fundraising activities in the year including: 

- Equinox Extravaganza – fete type event 

- Napton 10k 

- Bonfire 

- Christmas fundraising including a wreath making class, Christmas fair and Christmas gift purchasing commission 

- Quiz and curry 

- Easter bingo

- School games 

- Disco and cinema night for school pupils 

- Weekly school cake sales 

We have also this year maximised the use of grants from supporting organisations to supplement our fundraising including: 

- A donation from the Napton Cycle Rise of £1,440 towards sports equipment in school 

- Ford Motor Company Trust grant of £979 towards the refurbishment of the calm room for pupils to use when they need time out from the school day 

- Asda Cash Pot grant of £96.37 

## **Achievement and performance** 

The fundraising and grants this financial year delivered a £16,201.10 contribution to the charities reserves.  We then used £12,165.74 of our reserves to fund a number of items for the St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton to advance the education of the pupils in the school including: 

- New electronic screens and tablets for classrooms to support learning 

- Money from cake sales that went directly to each class to spend on items required in the classroom 

- Money towards a refurbishment of the calm room supported from the Ford Trust grant 

We have made a number of funding commitments to the school for the next year to fund playground and sports equipment enhancements. 

## **Financial review** 

SLSA’s income for this period was £27,446.28, any costs for the charity are directly related to the fundraising events we hold. The direct costs of staging events was £8,857.97. We now jointly run the Bonfire, and the Quiz and Curry night with the Southam Secondary School PTA, this means 50% of the profits from these events is transferred to their charity account (£3,232.92). The charity retained £43,106.11 for future funding requirements in the school. 

The charity constitution requires £1,000 is retained as a reserve. No funds are held as a custodian trustee, and the charity has no debts or loans.
