The charity is run by volunteers from the parent and teacher community of St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton, who are known as the Napton School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) whose official name is St Lawrence School Association (SLSA). The key roles within the charity are:

These roles are filled by members of the PTA and appointed at the AGM each year in October.
The trustees are appointed from volunteers within the PTA, and the PTA meets regularly during school term time.
2023 -2024 activities and objectives
Each year the charity aims to run a range of fundraising activities to enable the funding of items or services for St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton to advance the education of the pupils in the school.
The charity ran several fundraising activities in the year including:

Equinox Extravaganza – fete type event

Christmas fundraising including a wreath making class, Christmas fair and Christmas gift purchasing commission

Disco and cinema evening

Quiz and curry

SLSA was also able to fundraise via sales commission arrangements with Easy fundraising. We have also this year maximised the use of grants from supporting organisations to supplement our fundraising including:

Townlands charity grant of £1,925 towards playground improvements

County Councillor grant of £400 towards the installation of a defibrillator
-
Tesco grant of £1,000 towards playground improvements
-
National Grid grant of £400 towards drone kits for the school code club
Achievement and performance
The fundraising and grants this financial year delivered a £15,797.32 contribution to the charities reserves. We then used £1,238 of our reserves to fund a number of items for the St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton to advance the education of the pupils in the school including:

New reading books for KS1 pupils to improve literacy attainment

The National Grid funded drones for drone club

World book day prizes to support encouragement of reading for pleasure

Contribution to the Year 6 end of term party
Funds for the school where lower this year to maximise money available for the playground improvements work.

Financial review
SLSA’s income for this period was £29,686.82, any costs for the charity are directly related to the fundraising events we hold. The direct costs of staging events was £7,716.57. We now jointly run the Bonfire, Quiz and Curry, Bands and Burns night with the Southam Secondary School PTA, this means 50% of the profits from these events is transferred to their charity account (£4,262.63). Meaning an additional £16,470 contribution to the charities reserves. £1,238 was spent on items for St Lawrence C of E (VA) Primary School, Napton to advance the education of the pupils in the school. The charity retained £40,043.87 for future funding requirements in the school.
The charity constitution requires £1,000 is retained as a reserve. No funds are held as a custodian trustee, and the charity has no debts or loans.
