TRUSTEES REPORT
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the Financial Statements of the Diocese for the year ended 31 December 2024.
REFERENCE & ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
The Anglican Catholic Church (Original Province) Diocese of the United Kingdom, hereinafter referred to also as ‘the Diocese’, is a charity.
The charity registration number is 1068168
The Diocese’s principal address and office is ACC Diocesan Office, c/o St Augustine’s Church Eastling Road, Painters Forstal, Kent ME13 0DU
The Diocese is an autonomous member of the international Anglican Catholic Church (Original Province).
The Anglican Catholic Church is part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, faithfully continuing the Anglican tradition. We practise and uphold the historic Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship, and Evangelical Witness of the traditional Anglican Church.
In 1977 an international congress of nearly 2,000 Anglican bishops, clergy and lay people met in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, to take the actions necessary to establish an orthodox jurisdiction in which traditional Anglicanism would be maintained, by returning to the fullness of the Faith of the undivided Catholic Church. Acting according to the principles determined by the seven great Ecumenical Councils of the ancient Church and adopting initially the name "Anglican Church of North America," they placed themselves under the jurisdiction of the retired Episcopal bishop of Springfield, Illinois, the Right Reverend Albert Chambers.
In 1978 Internationally the Church adopted the name ‘Anglican Catholic Church’ adding the ‘Original Province’ when in 1984 the historic Church of India (Anglican) was received and constituted as the Second Province of the Anglican Catholic Church.
Today the Anglican Catholic Church (Original Province) is a worldwide body. It has churches in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, Haiti, Central and South America, Pakistan, The Philippines, and much of sub-Saharan Africa.
NATURE & WORK OF THE DIOCESE
Established in 1992, the Diocese represents and co-ordinates the common work of a network of different Anglican Catholic Congregations, numbering in 2023: 5 Churches, 1 Mission, and 2 House Groups (which we hope will develop into Missions) in England and Wales. Together they serve members of the ACC and many non-members, regular attenders and other supporters, benefactors and visitors who come from a range of backgrounds.
The Diocese also oversees centrally:
-
the provision of spiritual and material assistance to Anglican Catholic Parishes and Missions and projects that are not self-supporting
-

The Diocese sends delegates elected by the Diocesan Annual Synod to attend the world-wide Church’s Provincial Synod held every 2 years, usually in North America. The Bishop Ordinary is a full member of the Anglican Catholic Church (Original Province) College of Bishops which governs the whole of the Original Province and a Trustee of the Church Corporation as understood by US Federal Law.
The Original Province operates The Missions Society of St Paul which acts on behalf of the Original Province’s constituent Dioceses in humanitarian assistance and development work.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
To advance the Christian Religion by the propagation of the faith and instruction of the public in its practices primarily through its Parishes and Missions.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Though the Anglican Catholic community in the United Kingdom is small and is widely dispersed, we believe the Diocese makes a significant and beneficial impact in various ways, both in this country and beyond these shores. Various Information leaflets summarising Anglican Catholic belief about theological, moral and ethical questions are produced and distributed. The Diocesan web site (www.anglicancatholic.org.uk) includes current news about the Diocese’s work and activities and dedicated pages for resources spiritual and practical. The Diocesan and Provincial Canons are available for download. And a full range of links to other Diocese worldwide in the Anglican Catholic Church are provided. According to statistics from the website we receive an average of between 40 and 50 new and unique visitors every day on the website with around 2000 ‘hits’ per day.
Two editions of the Diocesan Magazine ‘ACC UK’ were produced during the year. It is the Council's newsletter for clergy, members and other interested Christians in Britain, and ecumenical and international contacts. A directory of Anglican Catholic Parishes Missions and Clergy is updated annually. The Diocese responds to enquiries received by post, telephone and email concerning various aspects of the Anglican Catholic Church. These include requests for information about the location of Anglican Catholic churches in particular towns or regions; Anglican Catholic teaching and practices; and Anglican Catholic beliefs on particular moral or ethical questions.
Summary of Indicators or Measures to assess achievement:
-
Many enquiries received annually, via post email or telephone, and most enquiries dealt with within a day.
-
Visitors to Website – including Guest Book Comments and Feedback
-
The continued use and development of a Social Media presence for both the Diocese and its respective congregations.
-
Informal feedback indicates booklet, newsletter, social media and web site provide useful information to the Anglican Catholic community and wider readership.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Principal funding sources. The principal source of income is plate collections, public and individual donations and planned giving. However, much of this is restricted funds for disbursement in the form of grants to the Missions and Congregations within the Diocese.
Reserves policy It is the policy of the Council of Advice to maintain sufficient reserves to meet its financial commitments as and when they fall due, at the same time respecting the donor intentions for the disbursement of restricted funds. An Endowment Fund was established to help safeguard the future of the Diocese. A policy relating to this, and the deposits made to this fund has been adopted.
CUSTODIAN OF PROPERTY
The Cathedral Church of St Augustine of Canterbury, Eastling Road, Painters Forstal, Kent ME13 0DU is owned by the Diocese of the United Kingdom in trust for the use of the bishop and congregation. The property is vested in the Charity Commission’s Official Custodian service. The congregation insure the building through the Diocesan Policy with an estimated rebuild value of £514,509 and a market value of £250,000.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
The Diocese continues to act in all the areas described above and the Trustees will continue to oversee and govern the Charity according to the above and will continue to consider how the Diocese can best serve the Anglican Catholic and wider community in Britain in the coming years.
Signed for and on behalf of the Trustees Date 14[th] July 2025

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of the Anglican Catholic Church DUK
I report on the Accounts for the year ended 31st December 2024, which are set out on the following pages.
Respective Responsibilities of the Trustees and the Independent Examiner
As trustees of the charity, the Officers of the ACC are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to
-
• Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act,
-
• To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
-
Commissioners section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act, and,
-
• To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission.
An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity, and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in a full audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
Independent Examiner’s Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: -
-
Which give me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
To keep accounting records in accordance with s130 of the 2011 Act; or
-
To prepare Accounts which accord with these accounting records have not been met; or
-
To which in my opinion, attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the Accounts to be reached.
