## Opening Remarks
It’s a real pleasure to be here with you today as Chair of the St John’s Parents and Friends Association. I still remember the evening I was voted in at the last AGM—dialling in from my office desk, wishing I could be there in person. So it’s especially meaningful to be here now, at the school, surrounded by familiar faces and new ones, both in person and online.
## Refection
The past year has been a journey of learning and growth for me and the new committee. We’re deeply grateful to Becca (Chair), Graham (Treasurer), Sarah (Comms) and Claire (Secretary) for their dedication and support during our transition. Thanks to their guidance, we’ve found our footing and celebrated some meaningful wins. We’ve learned a lot and are now focused on building the tools and resources to help the PFA thrive in the future.
## Success
When you're deep in the logistics of running events, it's easy to keep moving without pausing to celebrate the wins. But looking back, we've achieved so much in a short time—and it's thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers and committee members. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these events possible:

## Opportunity
We’re united by a shared passion to grow the PFA’s impact for our children. Building on what we've learned, the committee is now focused on creating a strong foundation to deliver events and initiatives at scale—bringing greater value to our school community and boosting fundraising potential.
Looking ahead, we’ll align with the school to set clear priorities and targets. This will help us communicate our purpose and focus our efforts where they matter most. We’re also introducing a more transparent budgeting process and giving every committee member a vote on how funds are invested. After the AGM, we’ll share more about this

## **St John's Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting 7 October 2025**
## **Treasurer's report for the 2024/25 year (from 1[st] September 2024 to 31[st] August 2025)**
Dear all,
**Income:** this was another good year for the PFA with revenue of £27,588, providing a net income (after expenses) of £16,842.
Here is a breakdown of the income by source category, with a further breakdown of the events:
The biggest contribution was from the Summer Fair, raising a profit of £6,782 so a massive thank you to the whole organizing team, as well as everyone who turned out to support. Second was the Fireworks with a profit of £2,352 (impacted compared with previous year by increased expenses such as additional insurance). The PFA PopUp stall selling ice-creams, etc has been a great new profit maker.

Year on year revenue is broadly in-line with recent years post COVID pandemic, with a slight drop in net income vs last year – mostly accounted for by the lack of a Sponsored Bounce event which was very profitable previously.
**School Purchases:** We spent a total of £27,930 on purchases for the school. Significant items include £15,000 towards the school’s digital strategy, which covered around half the total cost of buying laptops for the whole of Year 6; plus £6,600 on improvements to the area outside Year 1 classrooms. We also funded the new house reward system; TV screens for the intervention areas; and we continued to support enrichment funds, gardening and newspaper clubs, and Reception gifts.
**Balance:** While school spending outstripped our income for this year, we had a sizeable surplus at the bank built up from prior years. This enabled us to fund large projects, while still ending the year on a heathy bank balance of £15,282.
**Looking Forward:** we have a stable base income which provides a good foundation to support the PFA’s goals, but we are looking forward to exploring new opportunities to grow our revenue.
I’d like to thank Helen and Jo in the school office for their help throughout the year and Stephen Lunnon for kindly volunteering again to act as our Independent Examiner and reviewing our accounts for the year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08/2021.
**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
**Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
