Review
This year our numbers slightly increased as confidence to return children to nursery slowly grew. Because of the closure of local nurseries, we have continued to accept more children from areas outside of our village. We continued to use the internet to correspond with parents, and certain covid procedures became woven into everyday life. It was decided to make the separation of the room into 2 separate groups permanent after bubbles were disbanded and equipment and furniture was purchased accordingly. Although we could not commit to all our usual fundraising, later in the school year we were able to hold our Easter Egg Hunt which was a great success and attended by many. The monies raised were used to replace our original garden fence which was starting to decay in places. We also started to up our used clothes collection, which in the past has been a good fund raiser.
To celebrate the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee we presented the children with keepsake medals and celebrated as a group. We also make a giant flag that was on display during the village celebration.
All training was kept up to date and all training remained online. We were fully staffed
Inline with other childcare establishments, we decided to raise session fees to help with increasing over heads.
A high level of rent still continues to impact on our finances but as yet we have no solution to this.
