Nicola presented the accounts with all of those present. The accounts are in a very good position due to the grants received during the covid period. The accounts were formally accepted to be a true record, signed, and will be submitted to the Charities Commission together with the section reports and these minutes.

Secretary: There was one nomination for Secretary, Cheryl Dawe. This was carried unanimously.

Treasurer: There was only one nomination for treasurer, Nicola Cranch. This was carried unanimously.

5. Update of Trustees

With the above change in officers, Mark Harrison will be removed as a trustee and replaced with Cheryl Dawe

6. Closing Remarks

2021 started with no face-to-face meetings, we have seen an increase in some sections which is great, but some sections need more children. Sections carried on badge work through this time working at home. We are now back to preCovid activities.

Thank you to Nicola for all the hard work you have done with the accounts and especially applying for various grants that we were successful with. Some of the money has gone on repairing and updating the building, and the purchase of new camping equipment.

Tonight, is Mark’s last meeting as a member of Orsett and Bulphan Scout group. Mark started with the group back in June 2012 as an occasional helper, then in December took on the role of group chair till November 2019. Then the group secretary role till today so 12 years on the committee. Mark is not leaving scouting as he will continue to remain on the district executive and the health & safety committee, so we will still see him around the district.

Lastly a big thank you from all beavers, cubs & scouts to all the leaders for what you have done over the last year.

The meeting was then closed at 19:40.
