Mission Statement: "Yorkshire Animal Shelter aims to provide the highest standards of care to every animal during its stay at the shelter and to do all we can to find each one a pernianent new home" Aims and Ob'ectives: l. To relieve the suffering of stray and abandoned animals who are in need of care and provide treatment for sick or injured animals. 2. To establish and maintain an animal shelter for the reception and care of stray and abandoned animals and to re-home or foster wherever possible. 3. To educate the public in all aspects of animal care and promote animal welfare.

CHAIRS REPORT The charity is still in a state of change. It was our original remit to take in, care for and rehome animals. Over the past few years (since Covid 19 hit in 2020) the trustees have come to the conclusion that this is no longer possible on a long tern] basis. We do, however, remain committed to providing for the animals still in our care and will continue to do so for the them for the rest of their lives. We have been very fortunate this year to receive a large bequest. This has allowed us to make plans for much needed repairs and housing upgrades for the pigs and sheep. It was also the reason for our change of direction. It was agreed, moving forward, that we would use any money we have to offer financial assistance to other charities and rescues struggling with the ever increasing cost of veterinary care. This has relieved the day to day burden of care, which became increasingly difficult to maintain using only volunteer help. At this stage we are not looking to recruit new trustees or volunteers, however this may changer in the future as the charity changes direction. We are confident that this change of direction will continue to benefit the animals in needs who may otherwise not receive the level of care they require due to financial constraints.
