Trust to the Oak Tree Angli&qn Fellowship Trusl.

To comply with a provision of the Charilies Ac¢ which required all previously excepied
charities I churches with gross income in excess of £ 100.000 io individually regisier with the
Charities Commission, the Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship, a non-parochial church in the
Church of England gifted all of its assels to the Trusl effective 31* March 2010. The charity
had previously been registered by the Fellowship to undertake various charitable a¢livities
which were no longer ￿Ing pursued.

Structure, Govern4Dce and managemenl
The Oak Tr¢¢ Anglican Fellowship is part ofthe Church of England and prior to the
regulations that came into force part of the Charities Ac( fell under its Charitsble
Registratton and shared its Charitable Objectives.
Changes introduced by the Charitics Acl requirtd all previously exceWcd charities and
hurches with a gross income in excess of £1 00,(KX) to individually register with the Charity
Commission. To comply with this requiremenl in March 2010 the Oak Tree Anglican
ellowship gifted all of its assets and liabilities to the Oak"free Angli&3n Fellowship Trusl.
The Fellowship is fomally govemed b) its Trustees.
Objectii'es and Activities
Founded in (kiober 1993 al the invitation of the Bishop of Willesden, Oak Tree w&s
established to be a new, experimental church in ihe Acton a￿a. Although fully part of the
Church ofEnglaniL Oak Trec is dilTereni from the traditional parish church. I laving no sct
geographical boundarie& Oak Tree sees the whole of Acton. with its 85,000 residcnts, as ils
mission area working w'ith the oiher churches of the areas io help meet needs and create
comrnunity.
Its primary 8Ctivily is to meet for prayer. worship teaching and fellowship fornially on a
Sunday, bui also infonnally during the w'eek in small groups. The Fellowship runs a
Christians Against Poverty centre and other l(Kal projects to serve the residents of Acion on
an ongoing b&sis.
Financial Review
The Fellowship w&8 without a pernianent home since il was founded in I W3. In 2009 the
Diocese of London purch&sed a Community centre in the heart of Acton for Oak Tree to
occupy. refurbishment work commenced in ihe summer of 201 O and the Fellowship was able
to occupy the building in January 201 l . In 2024. lotsl incoming resources for the ycar were
£91k (2023.. £94k) and expenditure £86k (2022: £94k) re.sulting in a surplus of £5k (2023..
brcak-even) for the ￿riod. Unrestricted funds increased by £3k (2023.. refflain¢d stsble)
during the peri￿ ai £114k (2023-. £1 I I k)
Public Benefit
The charity acknowledges its requirement to demonstrale clearly thal it must have charitable
purposes or 'airns' that are for the public benefit. The Trustees confirni that ihey have paid due
regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit before deciding whai activiiies
the charity should undertake.

Reserv￿ Policy
The Trustees have considcred the Icvel of reserves thcj wish to re12in. appropriat¢ to th¢
needs of ihe trust. This is based on the lellowship's si7£ and the l¢vel of financial
comrniiments held. The Trustees aim lo ensur¢ the fellowship will be able lo continue lo
fulfill its charitable objLYtivcs cvcn if there is a iemFx)rw shortlall in income or unexpected
expendilure. The Truslees will endeavour nol lo sel a5id¢ funds un￿l￿&￿ily. The rcservcs or
the fellowship have been buih up over receni years lo fund ihe fit oul costs of its ncw
building, the final stsge ofwhich was completed durin8 2013 with (he refurbishmenl of the
lift. The Tn￿ee$ are conscious thal &$ 8 number of items pul in a5 part of the fit out in
2010r2011 come to the end of their working lifc then they will need lo be replaced and thus
reserves are maintaind for this.
Risk Jissessmeut
The Trnstees actively review the major risks which the trusi faces on a regular basis and
lieve that mainlaining the frce r¢serves sthted. combined wilh the annual TeVi¢W of the
controls over key financial systems Carried out on an annual basis. will provide suificienl
resources in the event of adver5c conditions. The Truste¢s havc also examined other
operational and b￿1n￿% risks which they face and confirm that they have estsblishcd sySt¢ms
to mitigale the STgnificant risks. The Trustees also p￿Sure that safeguardin8 and vther non-
financial p)licies are regularly review¢d in line with Church of England g(y)d practice
Trusteoq, Responsibilities
The Charities Act requires the Trustees to prepare fmancial staiements for each financial year
which give a true and faTr view of the slate of affairs of the trust and the surplus of the trust
