of Stondon Massey and such other persons
as the Trustees shall see fit.

The hall is hired out to local clubs and
groups. The Management Committee
ensures that the building is maintained to a
high standard and that it is kept in a clean
and serviceable state.
It encourages the creation of recreational
and sporting activities. The premises are in
almost continual use throughout the week,
with an OFSTED approved Pre-School
meeting every morning in term time. Other
activities include carpet bowls, keep fit,
children’s activities, Senior Citizens Club,
slimming organisations, karate, table
tennis, yoga, croquet and several
badminton groups. The weekends are
available for anniversary parties, weddings,
children’s parties, quizzes and similar
activities and the Committee Room is hired
on an occasional basis for meetings by art
and other groups.
A caretaker is employed to ensure the
building is properly maintained and
supervised.

Para 1.20 During 2024 all the local groups continued
to use the hall and it was regularly hired out
for parties and other events. No major
projects were undertaken by the Trustees
and Management Committee. The hall is
running at full capacity and user groups are
pleased to have the facility available on a
regular basis.
The curtains were replaced giving the hall a
more “up to date” appearance. A
refurbishment of the kitchen is now being
planned which will add to the hall’s appeal
to hirers.

structural and major maintenance needs
which are likely to occur in the foreseeable

from general funds to the Refurbishment
Reserve which now stands at £25,250.
This fund is held to meet the costs of
maintaining the hall at a good standard and
part will be allocated to the planned kitchen
improvements. The Trustees were able to
meet the cost of the new hall curtains
(£3,000) from hall income during the year.
The Energy Payment Reserve is available
to meet higher energy costs in the event
that hall income is unable to meet these
costs. At present, the hall is able to meet
high energy costs from income and long
term gas and electricity contracts have
been negotiated to provide security against
any future excessive increases in energy
prices.

Cheque payments from the Trust’s funds
require two signatures. Online payments
from the Trust’s funds require one
