Th¢ charitys objects are the alleviation of poverty and hardship. and distress arising th¢r¢from. for those in need. without distinction.
The principal aim of the organisatlon LS to provide accort]modBtion. suppoo learning and developrt]ent and work activity for homeless persons. atld to achieve the financial sustainability
necessary to underpin this by increasing trading revEnues w]d trading surpluses to support this Ernmaus Community in Oxford. The charity has also received mucli-needed donations in
support of the Community. Continuing Contr1￿ut]onS in the form of liousing benefit and donations will be required in addition to the trading income.

OxfDrd is continuing to develop the Cotntnunity 2nd to establish it oll a sound basis for the futhre. There is gene￿IlY a hll complement ofcompanions, with tnore homeles5
people recruit¢d wh¢n there 4r¢ vacancies. The Chatity has established 169 Oxford Road as a transitlDnal facility for thos¢ Companiotts who are Seeking to 'tnove un, itl the near future.

Emmaus Oxford is also continuing to grow its secondhand ￿miture rerail operation, and other social enterprise activities, as a means whereby Companions can work and at the same
time geneTat¢ funds to fir￿￿ce the on-going running of the Community. Sales of secondhand fumiture and other goods continue to ww a5 a result of the donations fro￿ individuals aud
orgaThisatiQDS. and in recet]t year5 online sales have developed well.
The eXtE￿1Ve secondhand fiThiture store, sited close to the Community, opened for trading on 14th May 2016. and marked the n)ajor capital development for Emmaus Oxford Sin￿ the
opening of the Community building in 2009. As part of the financial arrdngements for the building and fitting out of the new store the chwitywas required io make a substanthal capital

Emmaus Oxford will seek to support and encourage all CompaniDlls to move-on to independent living as soon as they are able to, has resources dedicated to as51Sting companions in
making this transition. The future strategy is to incr￿¢ the number of CompaniDn5 that can be supported by Effjmaus Oxford. The acquisTtion of167 Oxford Road will be one of the
elements whi¢h supports this Strategy. Plons for d¢v¢loping 167 Oxford Road are underway. with construction works planned ahead of opening the new facility.

year. All fundraising campaigns were run by one rn¢mber of stsff diredly employed by Emmaus Oxford usin(r ¢ommuni¢arions by dire¢t mail. email and social medi& Emmaus Oxford is
signed up to the Fundraising Preference Service but this y&v received no requests from this service. Supporters of Emm2us Oxford can elee4 through the web$it< to receive th¢
newsletter and have the opportunity to review and change their communication preferences similarly for all communications.
