The principal aim of the organisation is to PTOVLde accommodation. support and work activity for homeless perso￿ and to achteve the fittaneial sustainability necessary to

5UPPOrt of the Communtty. Continuing contribulions in the fomi of housins benefit and donations will be Tequired in addition to the tr4ding Ir￿0[￿£
Aehievements & Performance
Ernmaus Oxford is continuing to develop the Conununity and to establish it on a sound b&4is for the future. There is generally a fi￿1 ￿Mplement of CotnpanioDs and more
homelegs people will be reeruited as And ivhen there are vacancies. The Charity has established 169 Oxford Road &% attansitional facility for those Companions who are seekxng
to'move on, in th¢ near futttre. brinEing the total number of Companions that C4n be accommodated to 28.
Emmall5 Oxford is also continuing to develop thè second1￿Id furniture retail conc¢pL and other social e￿te￿rIse aclivitie5. YS i tneans whereby Companions ¢an work and at
the same time generdte funds to finance the on-gosng opetations of the Community. s￿e1 of secondhand furnitu￿ and othergood5 continue to Brow as a Te5uIt of the donations
from individuals and organisations
The extensive se¢ottdhalld fumiture 5torq sited c]osoto the Community, opened fortrading on 14th May2016. Thxs long4waited facility w&s the most Si8ttifieant event since
the opening of the Comtnullity building in 2009. As part of the financial arrangements for the building at)d fLttirt8 Out of the newstore the charity w&s rwuired to make
substantial capital cijntiibution to theproject. Ao additional storage facility has been sOUr￿d in 2020. in ¢los¢ proximityto the store. to increase the stockholding capacity and
provide a'hubl for the on-lin¢ sales.
Plans for tbe future
Emmaus Oxford will se¢k to support and encourage all Companions to move-on to independent living as soon as theyare able to, and has resour￿$ ddi¢ated to assisting
eompanions trt making this transition. The fijture strategy is to increa5ethe numberoecompanion5 that can be supported, by acquiring further suithble premises in the locality.
This year a prudent approach to surplus unrestricted tOgth￿ with an unexpected legacy. hav¢ enabled the organisation to purchase 167 Oxford Road with this objective in
rnind.
Fundraisin£
Etnmau5 Oxford is registered with th6Fundrnising Regulator and complies with their Code of FundrniSingPraCti￿ The charity [￿￿1Ved no cornplaints about its fimdraisingthis
year. All fundraisittg ¢ampaigns w¢r¢ rpjn by one member of staff directly employed by Ernmaus Oxford using conllnuttieAtions by direct mail, email and social media. Erntnaus
Oxford is signed up to the Fundrai$ingPreference Service but this year received no requests from this service. Supporters ofEmll]4u$ Oxford can elect, through th¢ web3ii¢ to
Teceive the newEletter and have the opportunity to reviewand change their Communication preferentts similarlyfor a]1 mass communications.
Emmaus Oxford continues to apply its supporters. Privacy policy and its ethi￿] fiuLdrai$ing policyto maintain high standards in our fvnthat2iA& Both are available on the
websits. The ethical fundraising policy describes the steps ittsk¢5 if offered a donation from somegn¢ who is potentially vulnerable and a]so gives details on how to make a
complaint about our fi￿d[aising. The privacy policy for supporters Mntains detail$ on th¢ steps the charity takes to protect supporters. dath.
In ye8r2020-2021. our fundraising ￿ntinued to be successful. The proportion of our In￿Me whith compris£s grants and donations increased si￿1fil￿tIy. We expect this
increase to be a short-tetm effect of oui en]eTgency fimdraisingappeal ill 2020 when the COVID-19 p3nd¢rniG started.
