The activities of the company were as follows: Designing and delivering heritage projects, programmes and initiatives that highlight African and Caribbean peoples' contributions to communities, public services, the Arts, commerce, other areas of socio-economic and cultural life in Britain and the Commonwealth. Windrush Foundation has been the organisation in 1995 that created the annual commemorations of Windrush Day and celebrated the West Indian people who arrived on the ship Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks, Essex, on 22 June 1948. The London-based organisation also promotes good race and community relations, builds social cohesion, strengthens identity, works to eliminate all discrimination, campaigns for equality of opportunity for everyone - placing particular emphasis on addressing issues of 'race'/'ethnicity' and cultural diversity. We preserve and conserve the heritage of the Windrush Generation.
