Objectlves and actlvlties The charity's objects are the advancement of the Christian falth. Flnanclal revlew and re8erve8 The twstees report a deficit on unrestricted funds before transfers for the year of £5,810 (2023.. deficit of £5,301). Unrestricted funds at the year end amounted to £74,15612023= £80,094). It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalenl to three month's operational expenditure. The Trustees conslder that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a signrficant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in whlch additional funds may be raised. The level has been maintsined durlng the year. In keeplng with the resenies pollcy, funds are maintained to meet foreseeable expendlture. It Is not the church's general policy to commit to investments other Ihan low Tisk bank and building society accounts. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied thal systems are in place to mitigale exposure to the major risk5.

The princlpal accounting policies adopted are set out below. 1.2 Golng concern At the tlme of approving the financial statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectalion that Ihe charity has adequate resources to continue In operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the golng concern basis of accounting in preparing the financlal statements. 1.3 Charltable funds Unrestricted funds are 8vailable for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitsble objectives. The purposes and uses of the designated funds are set out in Ihe notes to the flnancial statements. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be us8d. The purposes and uses of the restrlcted funds are set out in the notes to the flnancial statements. 1.4 Income Income15 recognised when the charity Is legally entitled lo it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income wlll be received, Cash donations are recognised on receipt. other donatlons are recognised once the charity has been notified of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donallon. Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an Impending distribution, the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a contingent asset. 1.5 Expendlture Expenditure is recognised in the period In which they are incurred and allocated to the particular cost centre to which they relate and includes irrecoverable VAT.
