TRUSTEES REPORT 2022 TO 2023

Sadly, we are still awaiting payment of our long-awaited inheritance, it will be 4 years come February,2024. Once the funds arrive it will make our lives so much easier. We are in desperate need of our own kennel/cattery premises, to secure the future of the rescue in years to come. Currently, run from my home address, it is essential that we buy premises and move to a property that can house all of our cats and dogs, for many years to come. We have everything crossed that this can happen in the very near future.

Currently we are still boarding our dogs in local boarding establishments, which is very costly, and not an ideal environment for the dogs.

There has been no reduction in the number of animals needing our help this year, the current financial climate has certainly added to the number of pets now being given up and, in many cases, just dumped. Many needing immediate veterinary attention on arrival.

The closure of several small local rescues has made our job even harder and so the need for more kenneling is absolutely essential.

Thankfully, our Charity shop continues to thrive and our very hard-working volunteers are doing an excellent job, ensuring we have a good, regular income which ensures that we can meet the needs of the animals in our care.

Our members and the general public give us fantastic support, we could never achieve what we do without them

We are praying that there will very soon be a settlement payment made from our inheritance so that we can get to work securing the future of all in the care of Suffolk Animal Rescue.
