Annual Report for the year to 31* March, 2025 The Mowden Pre-School Group Charity, Mowden Infant School, Bushel Hill Drive, Darlington, Co. Durham, DL3 9QG is registered with the Charity Commissioners (No. 1064873) and is constituted by Deed of Trust. The Charity Trustees during the year to 315 March, 2024 were: Chairperson Mrs. Jackie Saint Secretary Mrs Helen Livingstone Treasurer Mrs Laura Tunstall Other members Mrs Alex Hirst Mrs Alice Huthinson Mr Scott Marshall Mrs Ruth Henderson The officers and committee members are elected for one year at the A.G.M. Retiring officers and committee members are eligible for re-election unless they have served on the committee in any capacity for 14 consecutive years. The object of the charity is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups and by: a. Offering appropriate play facilities and training courses, together with the rights of parents to take responsibility for and become involved in the activities of such groups, ensuring that such groups offer opportunities for children, regardless of race, culture, religion or means. b. Encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in local areas. c. Instigating and adhering to and furthering the aim of the Early Years Alliance. Seven part-time group leaders staff the charity. During the year approximately 48 children used the pre-school facilities for 38 weeks of the year. The Local Education Authority provided £203823.51 in funding, parental receipts were £10607.10, €8356.99 in other funding and £3156.89 in interest. A profit of £21483.99 was shown over the year. The Mowden Pre-School Group Charity is a member of the Early Years Alliance and is included in Darlington Borough Local Education Authority early years plan.
