Trustees

Mr K B Baker Chair Mrs P Hallesy Mr A Hallesy Mrs J Coulthard

Mrs J Baker Secretary (deceased 15 June 2020)

Governing Document Trust deed dated 4 August 1997.

The trustees are chosen for their experience and for their knowledge of the subject and for their willingness to serve.

Summary of objects of the charity.

To provide support and information for the benefit of the general public. To make, provide and distribute on request the herbal tea (see below) and to provide support through a helpline.

All appointed trustees have had access to the guidance available from the Charity Commission. Clouds Trust does not make grants and all the trustees support the charity in a voluntary capacity.

Objectives and activities.

Clouds Trust has over the last year, considering the somewhat difficult circumstance, continued to supply the herbal tea, developed many years ago by Rene Caisse, on demand and free of charge as well as operating a helpline for the support of the general public and their families. The helpline has continued during the lockdown period and has been well received and busy.

Policy on reserves.

The charities policy on reserves is to ensure that funds remain adequate to maintain services, to harvest and prepare the necessary herbs and to purchase, as required, any additional herbs to prepare the tea. In common with many other charities, donations have diminished over the year in question. However, the reserves maintained by the charity are sufficient for it to continue to operate for the foreseeable future.

The charity's only source of funds at the present time comes from entirely voluntary donations.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of The Clouds Trust

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Clouds Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 31 August 2020.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

  3. The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
